Roman Reigns is not present on WWE television for the time being but being a dual champion, his name can’t just be avoided on TV. Last Smackdown, Drew McIntyre challenged him to an Undisputed WWE Universal Title match for WWE Clash at the Castle in September. But before that, he could be squaring off with a long-time rival.

Riddle is the latest name to challenge Roman Reigns for a title match. Over on Raw, The Miz and Maryse held a Premiere Party for the new season of Miz & Mrs. Riddle interrupted the session and said he wanted to tell Randy Orton to get well and come back soon after suffering the vicious attacks at the hands of The Bloodline.

The Miz said that Randy’s career is over and he’s never coming back after The Bloodline’s attack on him. Riddle told Miz to shut up and it was then that he challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Nothing specifically was told about this match on Raw but this could be happening at WWE’s upcoming premium live event, Money in the Bank.

Roman Reigns’ upcoming opponents recently revealed

Brad Shepard recently revealed on his Patreon that a source in WWE told him that Roman Reigns is scheduled to headline both the Money In The Bank and SummerSlam premium live events. This comes after the champion didn’t put his title on the line at Wrestlemania Backlash and Hell in a Cell. It was also reported that WWE was considering Team RK-Bro’s Riddle and Randy Orton as possible challengers for the dual champion in separate singles contests.

Then reports from Wrestling Observer suggested that Roman Reigns will reportedly put his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against Riddle at Money in the Bank (July 2), Randy Orton at SummerSlam (July 30), and Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle (September 3). Thus, all three upcoming stadium shows will have championship defenses on the card.

The Observer also noted that while pitches for these matches have been made, none of these matches have been confirmed. With Roman Reigns absent from TV, for the time being, it’s not clear either how WWE is looking forward to setting these matches up. But for the time being, Riddle seems to be the first in line for a title match opportunity.
