As much as WWE Raw or Smackdown talents have not wanted it to happen, Vince McMahon is back in control of the creative team. Even though he previously wanted to stay out of the process, there’s no full truth to the story since the veteran is back in the game be it in the board of directors and beyond it via the weekly story-telling process in the WWE.

The latest reports confirm that McMahon was heavily involved in the creative process of this week’s WWE Raw. He eventually ended up upsetting a few WWE Superstars after nixing their match on the biggest red brand show of the year after WrestleMania. In turn, McMahon also added a match, but one Superstar was not ready for that match, at all.

According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, McMahon added Omos and Elias’ match on WWE Raw, at the last minute. Omos was said to be in the catering at the time since he wasn’t informed about the match, at all,

“Omos vs. Elias was also a late addition, and several things that were originally planned for the show didn’t end up happening.

We’re told Omos was in catering, and wasn’t planning on wrestling, then the late change happened, and there was a scramble to make sure he had gear to compete in.”

Top WWE Raw Talents frustrated over Vince McMahon’s return

McMahon apparently acted in a way where he was least bothered by what was seemingly going on under the creative leadership of Triple H. This has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way as they didn’t want the previous constant changes in the script from the McMahon era. So this return did not sit well with some of the backstage people.

Sean Sapp also noted in his reports that some WWE Superstars or at least one top unnamed WWE Raw Superstar was prepared to submit WWE releases. No update on where it was finally submitted but the backstage concerns are pretty serious,

“Fightful heard from at least two talent, including one near the top of the card that said they’ll likely request their releases if this is a trend moving forward, and another that said they’ll just ride out their deal. There are multiple wrestlers who are already exploring what their options would be in the event Vince McMahon were to be steadily involved.”

The report added that “Numerous WWE talent were disappointed as they feel this weekend was a way for Vince McMahon to wedge himself back into the fold.” With The Boss retaining his Chairman position even after the WWE sale to Endeavor, it’s likely that he won’t go anywhere but rather will make the creative process his stomping grounds, yet again.
