In the opening match of Summerslam 2022, WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair defeated Becky Lynch to retain her title. After the match, the two stopped in the ring to have reconciliation when the music hit, and Bayley came out to make her return to WWE programming after being absent for almost a year.
Returning from an injury, Bayley also had Dakota Kai and Io Shirai backing herself up as they confronted the WWE Raw Women’s Champion. Suddenly, Becky turned babyface and had Bianca’s back as the heel trio decided to leave the ring instead getting into a physical brawl.

WWE Raw has had three big acquisitions at Summerslam 2022
According to the reports of Fightful Select, Sky’s contract was set to expire and there had been no creative plans around her on NXT after her injury that took place in April. WWE officials couldn’t confirm a new contract and she was interested also interested in a run on WWE Raw/Smackdown.
As noted above, Shirai has not been seen in action ring since WWE WrestleMania 38 weekend when she competed in a fatal-four-way match against Mandy Rose, Cora Jade, and Kay Lee Ray (aka Alba Fyre) at WWE NXT Stand And Deliver event.
WWE also posted the following statement on their website while talking about this post-match angle while confirming that Io Shirai will now go by the name of IYO SKY,
“Bayley brought Dakota Kai and IYO SKY along with her, leaving the WWE Universe stunned. The three made their way into the ring, but as Bayley berated Belair, Lynch stepped in to back up her former rival. The WWE Universe erupted in anticipation of a brawl, but Bayley, Kai, and SKY chose to retreat.”
Additionally, Bayley hinted on Twitter that the name of her stable would be “CONTROL” as we expect to learn more updates on the group during this week’s episode of WWE Raw.
