According to the reports of the local NBC Affiliate, WWE made a lot of income through Royal Rumble 2022. The event was not just a success for WWE as a company but a ton of monetary flow was observed for the city of St Louis.
The Explore St. Louis organization reports that the big event had a local economic impact of $8.3 million in revenue “supporting the jobs of thousands of hospitality professionals throughout the region.” The numbers are reportedly accurate while it was observed that The Royal Rumble 2022 also booked 11,000 hotel rooms in the area which also helped the travel and tourism department.
Royal Rumble 2022 was the second-highest gate in the 35-year history of the event, according to Sports Business Journal. The sellout crowd of 44,390 at the Dome marked the second-most-attended WWE event since the start of the pandemic that is only behind SummerSlam 2021 in Las Vegas, last August.

The report also noted that WWE also set a new record for merchandise sales for a single Rumble event, this year. Apart from the event-specific apparel, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey were the best sellers. The latter duo also won the two respective Rumble Matches to punch their tickets in the two main events of April’s WrestleMania 38.

As for Reigns, he retained his Universal Championship against Seth Rollins via DQ. Then The Tribal Chief also helped Bobby Lashley win the WWE Championship by attacking Lesnar during the scheduled WWE Title bout.
Rapper Bad Bunny entered the 30-Man Royal Rumble at the 27-spot and he was also one of the top merchandise sellers at the event in St. Louis. The Rapper has been ruled out for a match at WrestleMania 38, per PWInsider since he will be on a tour. He already has shows booked in Miami, Florida on April 2 and 3, the two nights of WrestleMania at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
