Vince McMahon is not probably backing down with his usual strategy of bringing back some more legends to build a successful PPV event. Even after he had a failed attempt to overshadow Wrestlemania with Super ShowDown, his plan may remain the same for the next huge event in the calender in the name of Summerslam. It takes place this year in the second week of August that may witness multiple returns.

As per the reports from Slice Wrestling, WWE officials want to produce a stacked match-card for the show. We also know this particular show as the biggest event of the summer that is only next to Wrestlemania, traditionally. So it’s certain that officials will put all efforts to make Summerslam 2019 a success. So multiple legends might be back on the PPV.

Additionally, Summerslam moves to a different venue after four long years. Leaving the home territory of Barclays Center in Brooklyn, this show will head towards Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. So there should be something special on the show garnering attention from the fans.

Plus, there is an additional reason why WWE wants to bring back many of the legends from the pro-wrestling circuit, (via wwfoldshool.com)

“WWE officials feel they need to have a stacked match-card for SummerSlam 2019 to make the biggest impact possible before SmackDown moves to FOX and before AEW starts airing their weekly show on TV (both of which are scheduled to happen in October).

To make the biggest possible impact, WWE officials are planning to bring in past legends and surprise guests for SummerSlam 2019.”

There are still no confirmations on who those returnees are going to be. But speculations suggest that WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg and former WWE Champion Batista could be the names that WWE wants to bring back. The same source reported that WWE offered lucrative contracts to these two names in the midst of threats from All Elite Wrestling promotion.

They do not want any of these two names to sign with AEW in the future. So despite the poor performance from Goldberg and retirement by Batista, they remain in the company’s radar. After all, WWE does not want any of the legendary names to work in AEW just like Bret Hart who disclosed AEW Heavyweight title at Double or Nothing.
