This week’s WWE Smackdown took place at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia and multiple WWE NXT Superstars worked the pre-show dark matches. In the first one of them, WWE Smackdown’s new recruits The Viking Raiders- Erik and Ivar defeated NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams.
This was the first main roster match for Hayes and Williams and the belief is that a sooner call-up on the main roster will be waiting for them.
In the second pre-show dark match of WWE Smackdown, Dakota Kai defeated Cora Jade in a singles contest. This appeared to be a rematch from the November 2 NXT episode, which saw Kai get the win over Jade. The feud was escalated after Jade attacked Kai from the back during this past episode of NXT. Kai has worked several main roster dark matches as of late, starting speculations of a main roster call-up while this was the first main roster bout for Jade.

Two bitter rivals competed in WWE Smackdown dark segment
The dark main event match after this week’s WWE SmackDown saw Sasha Banks defeating SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in a non-title Championship Contender’s Match. This match went around 20 minutes to entertain the crowd. WWE has been using this lineup during recent house shows as Sasha is expected to receive a title shot in due course.

During the main episode of WWE Smackdown from Norfolk, the Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair addressed RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and said that she is a fabricated Champion. Toni Storm came out and wanted to challenge Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title, but the champion declined the challenge.
Two weeks ago, Shotzi responded to a similar challenge by WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and got granted a championship contender’s match. Unfortunately, she lost the bout and also lost her opportunity to receive a championship match. Following that match, Shotzi attacked Sasha Banks, blaming the latter for the loss.
Shotzi will be on the go-home WWE Smackdown episode for Survivor Series 2021 as WWE has confirmed that Sasha Banks vs. Shotzi will go down, next week. Although, it’s not confirmed chances are high that the winner of this match will receive a title shot to Charlotte Flair following Survivor Series.
