The landscape of WWE Smackdown changed, last week with the return of Brock Lesnar in time for Summerslam. After his shocking comeback, we expect to have some fallouts from the situation, this week. Additionally, WWE has stacked the deck by announcing a championship match for the Intercontinental Title. Also, there will be two Money in the Bank 2022 qualifiers on the show scheduled from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

As noted above, Brock Lesnar is back on WWE Smackdown, ready to seek revenge on the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. During the June 17 episode, he made his return to WWE programming and attacked Roman Reigns following the latter’s successful title defense against Riddle.

Originally, intending for a handshake, Lesnar dropped Reigns with an F5 and then with two more F5s on the Undisputed WWE tag team champions, The Usos. Following this massacre, WWE announced that Lesnar will challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of this year’s SummerSlam premium live event in a Last Man Standing Match.

We haven’t heard from Reigns or Lesnar since this set of events from last week’s WWE Smackdown. This week, a promo has been released on WWE assuming that The Bloodline could be having some sort of plans to avenge Lesnar’s actions.

It has been confirmed that an Intercontinental Championship rematch will take place on WWE Smackdown from two weeks ago. The reigning Intercontinental Champion, Gunther appeared in a backstage segment with Kayla Braxton where it was revealed that ‘The Ring General’ would put his title on the line for the first time against the man whom he took the title from, Ricochet. This seems to be an obligatory rematch for the former champion.

A pair of Money In The Bank qualifying matches have also been set for the June 24 episode of WWE Smackdown. Shinsuke Nakamura will face Sami Zayn in one of the two qualifiers to determine the fifth participant in the men’s fray.
