SmackDown moves along on the way to WrestleMania 37 following an exciting Elimination Chamber edition, this past Sunday night. We can expect the builds to begin for the last stop before Mania that is Fastlane 2021, scheduled for March. Plus, the two WrestleMania main-eventers will be on the show to continue the ongoing storyline when tonight’s show airs from the Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Unlike the former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre from Raw, the Universal Champion from SmackDown wasn’t put through tests inside the Elimination Chamber. Roman Reigns had the utmost privilege to face a weary number-one contender after the Chamber match, instead. He won the match, easily after locking in the Guillotine Chokehold submission hold.

But the winning moments were cut short by Royal Rumble match winner Edge who connected with a wicked Spear to confirm that he is coming after the Universal Championship at WrestleMania. Now that the match has been made official for the Show of Shows, Edge and Reigns will be involved in a full-fledged rivalry until April. They both are advertised to appear on SmackDown and we can’t wait to see how things will unfold.
WWE Smackdown Preview (26/02/21): Women’s Title Picture
Speaking of Rumble winners leads us to the Women’s counterpart winner, Bianca Belair. She is yet to make her choice except for the rumors which mention that she would be facing SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks at WrestleMania 37. Meanwhile, these two teamed up at Elimination Chamber for a failed attempt to gain the Women’s Tag Team Championships from Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.
WWE NXT: Title Matches Announced; Undisputed Era Erupts
The loss didn’t come through a clean pinfall as Reginald got involved in the scene. For weeks now, Carmella’s sommelier has been trying to make run-ins between Belair and Banks to make things interesting on SmackDown. Carmella is obviously not happy with such behavior from someone who works for her. We guess Reginald could be up for paying a penalty for the disturbances, he keeps on creating.
Apollo Crews is a man on a mission over gaining the Intercontinental Championship. He lost when the one-on-one opportunity was provided to him but now he is gunning for another shot that caused a mega heel-turn, last week. As seen last Friday night, Crews took out Shinsuke Nakamura before focusing on the champion Big E. A few shots through the steel ring steps injured E as he needed medical attention. We expect to receive medical updates for him on this week’s SmackDown alongside the next title defense reserved.
