The go-home edition of WWE SmackDown for Payback 2020 would be here, tonight and it’s likely that a series of matches will be finalized for this Sunday’s PPV event. The card of the show only has four matches to it and it’s likely another four to be added to the show. Women’s Title, Intercontinental Title, and more announcements should arrive, tonight.

The headliner of SmackDown will feature a Universal Championship contract signing segment where Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, and The Fiend will be present at the same ring. Big E will join The Miz on an episode of Miz TV dragging the fallout from last week’s Talk Smack. These and much more are expected when Friday Night’s hottest show airs from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.

WWE Smackdown Preview (28/08/20): Contract Signing; Miz TV; Payback Go-Home Show

“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt was able to put down Braun Strowman at SummerSlam 2020 as he emerged with the Universal Title. Just after the huge win, Reigns crashed The Biggest Event of the Summer with an emphatic return. He delivered Spears and chair shots to both the competitors of the match and posed with the title.

It’s certain that Roman Reigns will have to be ready for Payback when he steps into SmackDown, this week. Reigns, Wyatt, and Strowman will have to sign the dotted line for their Universal Title No Holds Barred Triple Threat Match at WWE Payback. No matter what, the signing will bring utter chaos to the ring, providing us a sneak preview of what might be in-store at the PPV main event.

On the return of “Talking Smack” on the WWE Network, Big E spoke up about Kofi Kingston’s post-WWE Title opportunities but The Miz was quick to put his opinion and thereby present a conflicting viewpoint. Apparently, their discussion hasn’t ended, at all. On SmackDown, Big E will restart the conversation on “Miz TV” to go for another back and forth verbal encounter. This could be a setup for a match at Payback.

Bayley is still the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion who has gone through a successful title defense at SummerSlam against Asuka. She has literally toppled all the roster members available in the locker room except for Mandy Rose who has picked up a big win over Sonya Deville. Now it’s time for Rose to get prepared for the title picture and she is perhaps ready as stated on WWE Bump, this week.

AJ Styles lost the Intercontinental Championship on SmackDown to Jeff Hardy, last week and it’s likely that a rematch is coming at WWE Payback. It’s also being rumored that Matt Riddle and King Corbin will feature in a segment that should lead to the much-anticipated matchup between these two, this Sunday. Also, a singles contest for Big E against either The Miz or Sheamus should be made official when SmackDown airs from the ThunderDome.
