WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is the number-one Superstar in today’s professional wrestling industry. As reported earlier, he’s neither been pinned nor submitted in over 2 years. The final time he was pinned was all the way back in December 2019 in a match on Smackdown by Baron Corbin.

The heel-turn at Summerslam 2020 put him to a different level than all the other members of the WWE roster. Roman Reigns stands 10-0 in all of his PPV matches of 2021 as he has successful title defenses at Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, FastLane, Wrestlemania 37, Wrestlemania Backlash, Money in the Bank, Summerslam, Extreme Rules, and Crown Jewel. At Survivor Series, he won a Champion vs. Champion match against WWE Champion Big E.

Eva Marie was rehired by the WWE in early 2021 as she was included on the WWE Raw brand. In terms of gaining the most followers in 2021 in pro-wrestling, Marie stands right after Roman Reigns, who gained 584,768 followers.

The number three spot goes to Bianca Belair, who gained 542,685 followers in the year as she was one of the Wrestlemania main-eventers who also had a credible run with the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

Coming back to Roman Reigns, he’s also closing in on 500 days as the Universal Champion, as well. The longest-reigning WWE Universal Champion is Brock Lesnar who held the title for 503 days (from Wrestlemania 33 in 2017 to Summerslam 2018). But the Tribal Chief is likely to surpass him in early 2022. This will eventually solidify his spot as the top-most superstar in professional wrestling as he would also claim himself to be the longest-reigning champion in the modern era of WWE.

Roman Reigns has been the number-one merch seller on the WWE full-time roster for many years now, but his merchandise sales reached John Cena’s level in 2021, as he became the most-selling heel superstar in WWE history.
