WWE Hall of Famer Edge will be in action on a SmackDown ring for the first time in a decade during next Friday’s episode. Edge’s opponent will be former one-half of tag team champions, Jey Uso for the special counsel’s spot for the WWE Universal Title match at Fastlane 2021.
It was announced during this week’s WWE Fastlane contract signing for Daniel Bryan vs. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns that Edge vs. Uso goes down, next week. Edge has not wrestled on SmackDown TV since his win over Drew McIntyre on the March 25, 2011 episode.

Jey Uso told WWE Producer Adam Pearce that at Reigns vs Bryan needs to have a Special Enforcer. Royal Rumble 2021 winner Edge came out and made the stakes even higher. He proposed that Edge and Jey should do battle next week and the winner will be the Special Enforcer at Fastlane. Pearce agreed to the match stipulation and made the match official for next Friday’s Smackdown.

WWE Smackdown Women’s Title Match Announced
Next week will mark the Fastlane 2021 go-home edition of SmackDown on FOX which will have a title match on the card. Sasha Banks will defend her SmackDown Women’s Title as she faces WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Nia Jax. It will just be two days before Banks and Bianca Belair challenge Jax and Shayna Baszler for their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at Fastlane.
Kayla Braxton approached Nia Jax and Reginald, backstage for interviewing purposes. Jax laughed at Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair’s tag team match loss against Tamina Snuka and Natalya. So she thought that Sasha won’t be having any chance to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at Fastlane.
Reginald then suggested that Jax should challenge Banks for her SmackDown Women’s Title, next week so that she can go into Fastlane with two titles. Jax thought that would be a great idea as the match became official for, next week.
It was also noted after Smackdown that Apollo Crews vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E will go down at WWE Fastlane pay-per-view. Big E made his first appearance since Crews injured him with the steel ring steps a few weeks ago. E retained his IC title over Sami Zayn in an Open Challenge, but he was then again attacked by Crews in a similar fashion.
