The Stadium Show tradition in the WWE has been growing bigger these days. As the company is looking forward to expanding its live touring schedule and more future shows may be conducted in large stadiums. In 2022, the company plans to host a total of eight stadium events, including the massive upcoming UK event alongside SummerSlam. In 2023, that number is only expected to go high, as per the recent updates.

WWE President Nick Khan sees these big Stadium Shows as a booster for WWE Network and hence the tradition of such shows has grown bigger after he’s put in charge.

Upcoming shows such as Money in the Bank and SummerSlam will both take place in NFL venues and as for MITB, it will be the very first time that the show will be conducted on such a grand scale. Increased seating arrangements guarantee more ticket revenue for the WWE.

WWE Stadium Shows to become a regular tradition

In an update, Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast recently informed that WWE intends to make these stadium shows a regular tradition. The company generally wants to draw more than 15,000 fans for Premium Live Events and the NBA-sized indoor arenas aren’t good enough to capacitate the same due to the size of the set. Rather NFL Stadiums can be prepared for these bigger shows with bigger sitting arrangements,

“A source over at WWE mentioned that WWE intends to run more stadium shows moving forward in 2023. Just for reference 2022 has 8 stadium events. The goal is to make this the new norm. This is a Nick Khan approach when it comes to Premium Live Events,” the source noted.

“The scalability of large stadiums is very beneficial when it comes to having live attendance over 15k.

The event doesn’t have to be a sell-out of 50k+ but now you have room to do 20-35k shows more often leading to much higher revenue & higher level of excitement for the event.”

That being said, WWE is going through a new approach for their premium live events. The events don’t necessarily need to be huge billings or the Big-Four events but they should be stadium shows in order to draw more revenues. Selling more tickets remains the propaganda for the company and it makes all the sense.
