The bygone PPV in WWE’s 2019 calendar was Survivor Series. It was mostly praised by the fans as there were some solid matches on the card.
The fact that NXT was inserted into the PPV, ensured that the fans won’t be having any dull moments. Most of the matches except for the main event match lived up to the expectations and made the final big-four PPV of the year a huge success.
But it seems that the current AEW World Champion Chris Jericho did not find a segment of the show very amusing. He was recently talking with Konnan for his Keepin it 100 podcasts to note on things like the difference between WWE and AEW and more.
The host of the show went ahead to ask him about how the 2019 Survivor Series PPV faired. Chris Jericho had high praise for the show but he specifically mentioned one segment that was not his favorite.
He pointed out a segment between Daniel Bryan and The Miz from the event and called it “cartoonish in a bad way.”
“I watched Survivor Series, it was really good, but there was this promo with The Miz and Daniel Bryan and Miz saying for the sake of our children and our families you have to stop The Fiend. Nobody talks like that.
You can still put the guy over big time, but what is he going to do, break into your house? Steal your kids? It’s just not believable. It’s cartoonish in a bad way.” (courtesy sescoops.com)
This particular segment was created to hype up the Universal Championship match between Daniel Bryan and The Fiend Bray Wyatt.
The champion was a clear favorite heading into the match and hence The Miz was used to give some vocal tonic to the challenger. However, that was not enough to save him from the wrath of The Fiend.
Earlier to this, we already reported that Chris Jericho was critical about Roman Reigns using Roman Reigns in an insignificant way.
The scripted promos used by WWE for him is perhaps the main reason why his character can’t be flourished. He also claimed that if in the AEW, Reigns could be so much ‘over’ with the fans.
