The news that Paige was coming back to SmackDown made headlines around social media. It was just a random announcement on Monday Night RAW that appeared to be big hint of her comeback to in-ring competition. So millions of her fans crossed fingers for potential big news on this past Friday Night. But all of those got scrapped out.
Paige could not make it to the WWE Performance Center for SmackDown after the rescheduling that happened from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. She said that it was out of her control which turned out to be a travel issue created by Coronavirus.
PWInsider.com now reported that Paige and Nia Jax were originally scheduled to be on SmackDown, this week. They were about to get involved in some sort of capacity during this past week’s episode starting an angle. But the idea was canceled once WWE moved the show to the Performance Center.
“Neither Paige nor Nia Jax were at the Performance Center today. We are told the plan to use Paige on the show changed due to running at the PC.”
So, it looks like the travel issue was not the real problem the anti-Diva was dealing with. Over on Twitter, she was just trying to make up the absence which could have been a headliner segment on SmackDown.
Paige appeared to be very upset over what transpired over the appearance as she was pulled from SmackDown. But she also dropped a hint that of getting another chance to appear on TV, down the line.
Meanwhile, we might never know what the original plan was supposed to be around Paige and Nia Jax if the show would have emanated from Detroit, as scheduled. But it is evident, that their plan might not have worked well without a live audience present.
Segments have to be altered in big ways without them which remained the same way for Monday Night Raw show. It did not have fans in attendance without which a lot of alterations had to be made for #316Day celebration by Stone Cold Steve Austin.
As for Paige, she is one of the biggest attractions that WWE can have each week on TV. This is why she appears regularly on WWE Backstage on FOX.
But next Tuesday, there won’t be any such episode as the tapings have been canceled from the Los Angeles studio due to Coronavirus pandemic. Hopefully, everything will be sorted out real quick as we hope to see the 26-year-old superstar back on the programming, soon.
