Charlotte Flair is currently spending time in hiatus from WWE. She suffered kayfabe injury on Monday Night RAW at the hands of Asuka while in reality, she needs to undergo elective surgery forcing her to stay out of action at a time when there are lesser top names available on Monday Night RAW roster. Things could have been worse in case she had to be off WWE TV until next year.
But recently, Charlotte Flair squashed the rumor that she’ll be out from the scene until 2021. Meanwhile, The Queen is busy spending time, online to keep her fans entertained. She dropped a professional lingerie photo on a couple of occasions those were indeed breathtaking. She also followed that up with a classic thirst trap photo in a floral bikini.
The story could have been very different if WWE would have Charlotte Flair in active competition. The creative team intended to keep her very busy if it was not for her hiatus. WWE had some big plans for her before the surgery, but it’s unknown if they will be able to keep the same plan when she would eventually be back, at some point.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE wanted Charlotte Flair in a long-term feud with Asuka. This is the reason why Flair had such a strong run in NXT who didn’t suffer even a single pinfall loss even while losing the championship. It was a triple threat match where Io Shirai pinned Rhea Ripley to gain the title but she didn’t beat the former Champion.
WWE’s plan was to make Charlotte Flair the top women in the company in the absence of Becky Lynch who captures that spot since early 2019. It’s unknown when Lynch would be back from her pregnancy hiatus but it won’t happen until at least December when her baby is due. WWE couldn’t think of anyone better than her former four-horsewomen partner to replace her.
In the changed context, both Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch had to get out of the equation at the same time which isn’t a good thing for the company.
However, Flair could very well be back in time for SummerSlam as we can expect Asuka to Flair to go into a battle, down the line. Nia Jax could also be used to make it a three-way angle. For now, WWE’s been using Sasha Banks as Asuka’s challenger.
