The final episode of SmackDown for the year 2019 revolved around the Triple Threat main event contest, mostly. It also had A Moment of Bliss debuting on FOX and a couple of Women’s Division matchups. Check out the results from the show that took place at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
The Triple Threat contest to Crown a New Number One Contender for WWE Title featuring Daniel Bryan, The Miz, and King Baron Corbin was about to open SmackDown. But Corbin started ranting about defeating Roman Reigns at TLC. Reigns soon came out and delivered a beatdown as the fans cheered him up. The officials arrived at ringside to take Reigns to the backstage area.
The opening contest of SmackDown featured a six-man tag team match where The New Day and Braun Strowman took on Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn.
Strowman leveled Nakamura with a clothesline when Big E pulled Cesaro out of the ring. Kingston hit the Pancake Platter on Nakamura’s head as Strowman hit the Running Powerslam on him to get the win.
Carmella competed against Mandy Rose in a singles contest on SmackDown. Rose was in control of the matchup as she delivered a Dropkick followed by the Jumping Knee on her opponent. Carmella came back hitting a takedown and a clothesline. She delivered a Superkick to Rose to get a quick victory.
King Corbin refused to compete after what transpired on SmackDown earlier the night. So Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz took place for the contender’s spot.
But the match was disqualified as Corbin’s security guards took them out in the middle of the match. Bryan and Miz went to the backstage area to attack Corbin, further.
FOX debut of “A Moment of Bliss” was next on SmackDown with Lacey Evans joining as the special guest. She went on to speak how it was unfair that Sasha Banks faced off her daughter, last week.
But she was not there to talk but instead wanted to fight. So Evans marched down to the ring for the next matchup.
Lacey Evans and Dana Brooke vs. Sasha Banks and Bayley was the lineup. The heel team attacked Dana while entering the stage. Evans ran down to the ramp and tried to neutralize the scene.
The match finally started as Bayley hit the Bayley-to-belly suplex on Evans. Brooke broke the pinfall attempt but Banks locked in her Bank Statement submission move to get the win.
The Triple Threat contender’s match finally happened on SmackDown as Reigns was told to leave the arena. But Ziggler interfered the match on behalf of Corbin hitting a Superkick on Bryan.
Reigns then appeared and brawled all over the arena with Ziggler and Corbin. Bryan applied the LeBell Lock to get the submission win as announcers confirmed Bryan vs. Fiend for WWE Title at Royal Rumble. Bryan led a YES chant to close SmackDown.
