WWE Smackdown Preview (03/04/20): Goldberg-Roman Reigns; John Cena Returns
Tonight marks one last weekly episode of SmackDown before WWE airs WrestleMania 36, this weekend. Eventually, it could turn out to be the final episode for quite sometimes of WWE has to stop taping shows for Coronavirus pandemic. So the night is going to be pretty impactful which is going to affect the WrestleMania main event, big-time.
Currently, the headliner of this week’s SmackDown has a face-off segment between the Universal Champion and the challenger before their title bout. A Miz TV segment will also be there featuring The New Day and The Usos as guests.
Also, John Cena will return on the blue brand to respond to the unique challenge laid down by his WrestleMania 36 opponent as Friday night’s hottest show takes place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
WWE has confirmed the headliner segment of this week’s segment between the two competitors who fight over the Universal Championship at WrestleMania. Roman Reigns and the champion Goldberg is set to meet face to face for one final time before heading into the dream bout,

But a big twist will be there on SmackDown around this segment. Roman Reigns has pulled himself out of WrestleMania 36 and hence he will be written off the storyline angle as well as this year’s WrestleMania. Braun Strowman is the supposed replacement for him who should show up and capture Reigns’ spot. There’s no update on how the angle will go on but it will surely take the Big Dog out of the WrestleMania context.
The New Day and The Usos, the two highly decorated tag team rivals battled for a SmackDown Tag Team Championship shot against The Miz & John Morrison at WrestleMania. Now they both will challenge the champions in a triple threat ladder match.
Ahead of this epic bout, The Miz and Morrison present an edition of Miz TV with the challengers. Rumors are pretty high about The Miz being incompetent at WrestleMania 36. Hence, this lineup will also be changing, for sure. Chances are high that one member from each of the three teams will compete in the triple threat.
Last week, Bray Wyatt proposed that his WrestleMania showdown against John Cena should be a Firefly Fun House Match. He believed this epic battle was more than ordinary and hence he needed to add a gimmick to the contest and thus throw a tough challenge to his opponent.
Cena, being a veteran, overcame all such challenges throughout his decorated career but he never expected a match like this to happen at the grandest stage. Just two nights away from the showdown, the Cenation leader returns tonight on SmackDown to respond to his opponent.
The stage is all set for five women who’d compete for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The focus is on the friendship of Bayley and Sasha Banks who will be competing in this.
Could they continue to be on the same page or Sasha will show some aggressive side going in the hunt for the title? We’ll get answers to the question when SmackDown airs from the PC for one final time before WrestleMania 36.
