AEW TNT Championship changed hands on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. This comes after Scorpio Sky defeated the defending champion, Sammy Guevara, in a singles match that was filled with shenanigans.
With Guevara being in control of the match, he went for his signature 630 splash from the turnbuckle to Sky. A table was set up on a table at ringside as Sky avoided the finisher and Sammy ended up going through the table with strong momentums.
Sammy’s girlfriend, Tay Conti then came out to check on Guevara alongside a doctor who looked over him. Suddenly, Paige Van Zant (who was sitting at ringside on AEW Dynamite) a fellow member of American Top Team with Scorpio Sky started talking trash about Tay Conti while she was checking on Sammy.

Conti was eventually sent to the steel ring steps while the other Top Talent members Ethan Page, Dan Lambert caused distractions from the ringside to Sammy. He got hit with Scorpio Sky’s finishing cutter for the pinfall loss. Afterward, Paige Van Zant entered and delivered a beatdown on Sammy and Conti.

Paige Van Zant signed contract on AEW Dynamite
Following this, the segment on AEW Dynamite ended with American Top Team celebrating as Paige Van Zant signed her AEW contract on Conti’s back while she lay was lying down in the middle of the ring. The same information was also provided on AEW Twitter handle. Last week, AEW President Tony Khan announced via Twitter that Paige intended to sign her AEW contract and it seems like she will be feuding with Conti in her first storyline.
In more news, the card for this week’s AEW Rampage was revealed during AEW Dynamite, and it will feature the in-ring debut of new signee “Swerve” Strickland aka former WWE Superstar Isaiah Swerve Scott. After a backstage confrontation, his first opponent was announced to be Tony Nese.
Keith Lee will also be in action in a singles bout against QT Marshall. We will also have a one-on-one bout between Darby and Marq Quen. The full card for Rampage as informed on AEW Dynamite goes as follows,
