Dave Meltzer is certainly not the favorite of female wrestlers as he previously made some negative comments on one of them.
Now one of the most regular female hosts of WWE TV fell victim to such jabs which claimed that look is the main reason why WWE kept her in the job in the first place. The target in this context was Charly Caruso.
Stephanie McMahon’s reactions on b**bs flashed on TV
During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer asserted that late, great “Mean” Gene Okerlund wouldn’t be able to get a job in WWE today. (if he was alive)
Why the women main-evented Survivor Series?
As per him, an older man like him won’t be able to make it to the workplace since the demand is something else. Apparently, ‘he’s not young and he’s not cute enough’ like Charly Caruso.
It caught a fan’s attention as he tagged Charly Caruso to note on the matter. Below is how she decided to reply.
Charly Caruso was referring to Marry Anne that is Meltzer’s wife, with this tweet.
No need to emphasize on the fact that the comments from Dave Meltzer stirred the IWC to a big extent.
Nikki Bella blessed for not marrying John Cena?
Even at a time when the women’s Evolution is at its peak, it’s really harsh to hear such comments from perhaps the most veteran wrestling journalist, alive.
Prior to this, Dave Meltzer took shots at one half of the former women’s tag team champions, Peyton Royce for her weights. It was a filthy example of body-shaming that the female superstars have dealt a lot with.
Campaigns over these are also part of WWE community programming, nowadays. But when people like Meltzer do so, it becomes unacceptable.
As for Charly Caruso, she is a renowned broadcast name from ESPN. In fact, she still works for the global brand other than interviewing on Monday Night Raw or the PPV events.
Plus, she has become a regular panelist on the kick-off shows ever since Renee Young left the charge before going to FOX.
So Charly Caruso has every right to prove Dave Meltzer wrong. At present, more backstage announcers are also available in WWE in the form of Cathy Kelley or Sarah Schreiber.
We’re pretty sure that they did not like Meltzer’s comments, either.
