Daniel Bryan’s WWE contract reportedly expired after his match on SmackDown against Roman Reigns, last week. Since then there have been endless speculations over his wrestling career. The veteran wrestler is said to be a free agent for about a week now. But he hasn’t made any big announcement on his future that is re-signing or heading to a different promotion.
For now, the former world champion He can legally do whatever he likes in terms of pro wrestling at the moment. It was noted in the recent reports of Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Daniel Bryan could arrive in AEW or any other promotion, next week if he wanted to. All of his obligations with the WWE are over. A no-compete clause isn’t in effect, too.
Daniel Bryan Officially Becomes An Alumni On The WWE Roster
WWE obviously doesn’t want Daniel Bryan to head to any other promotion, leaving their side. So they have already been forcing him to renew the deal. There is also a belief that if the pandemic wasn’t a factor then the leader of the YES Nation could go to Japan to appear on the next Tokyo Dome show. But WWE is still leaving the door open for his return.

Daniel Bryan can show up on any rival wrestling brand
Check out more on the Daniel Bryan situation noted on WOR,
“He could show up next week on Raw. He could legally show up next week on AEW. I actually think if we weren’t in a pandemic situation and without the quarantine issues that he’d probably be wrestling at the Tokyo Dome show, but we are. He’s free to negotiate with everyone and WWE was trying to sign him before the deal expired and that door is still very much open.”
Daniel Bryan could come back to WWE, but he won’t be able to provide seamless service like old times. His full-time wrestling stint has to be toned down as he admittedly wants more family times. In this case, WWE has to work out a special agreement to keep this popular superstar under their banner. The contract won’t be all about a lucrative amount of money, after all.
WWE reportedly also has no new rule issued to their talents for mentioning Daniel Bryan by name on WWE programming, according to PWInsider. If WWE was truly looking to distance them from Bryan, they would never be doing so. This is like a situation full contract to that of CM Punk who can’t be mentioned, on-air.
