CM Punk is a current employee for WWE Backstage on FOX which means he is definitely not a WWE Superstar.

The deal for him is to analyze the contents aired on the weekly programming of the WWE. But that does not mean he won’t be stepping foot into the squared circle, ever.

Fans will keep on hoping that the Chicago-native makes the much-anticipated comeback.

CM Punk asked to enter Royal Rumble 2020

The rumors fuelled up even more now that Seth Rollins has challenged CM Punk to a match at WrestleMania 36. He’s been taking shots at the returnee the moment he stepped foot into WWE Backstage.

The pledge went even bigger as the former Universal Champion went into a rant on the former Straight Edge leader in a recent conversation.

During an interview with 101WKQX in Chicago, former Universal Champion Seth Rollins explained why he’s challenging CM Punk to a match. He called Punk out if he wants to tangle on the grandest stage of them all like a man.

The fact that the second city savior is running his mouth on WWE programming despite not being a part of it, irked him a lot. Here’s more from what Seth Rollins has said,

“Say whatever you want, play it however you want, that’s what Punk always does, but at the end of the day if he wants to come on a show and run his mouth about me and a company that he has had no part of for 5 years, then, of course, I’m going to stand up for it.

I want to make some money, so if CM Punk wants to talk all of the smacks in the world, I’ve invited him a million times to come to my ring, to my domain on live television where you can’t hide behind anything, no desk in LA. Let’s do this thing, man. Let’s fight. Let’s fight it out like men.”

However, the current status of CM Punk at WrestleMania 36 does not look bright, at all.

According to Wrestlingnews.co, there have been no negotiations between Punk & WWE regarding a match at WrestleMania 36,

“As of now, there is no deal between Punk and WWE. People close to Punk insist that there is no match booked or planned for WrestleMania and he has no plans to step in the ring in the immediate future.”

The situation could definitely change in the upcoming months considering the then situation. Rumors also claimed that FOX turned down CM Punk for WWE Backstage.

But eventually, he appeared on the show to give the fans a ‘mark-out’ moment. We wonder whether the WrestleMania returning moment awaits at some point or not.
