One of the head-honchos of WWE, Stephanie McMahon has indirectly come up to back up the decision taken by the company. The rule stated that superstars are no longer allowed to work with third party companies. (Namely Twitch or Cameo or YouTube) This was indeed a controversial decision that made the fans furious as it was a way for them to get connected with their favorite WWE Superstars.
The decision even drew the ire of former US Presidential candidate Andrew Yang who reacted in a negative way regarding this. Since the announcement, it has been a popular matter of discussion. Stephanie McMahon spoke to The GaryVee Audio Experience in July, and the conversation has just re-released as this interview seems relevant to WWE’s headline-making rule brought on by Vince McMahon.

Stephanie McMahon was trying to make a point saying that Superstars can build their brands “in and outside of the ring” using their WWE identities. Those superstars also have the realization that they’re taking advantage of the opportunity, fully.
“I think the talent we have today has more of an opportunity than anybody ever did before because of social media. They recognize their own opportunity to promote their own brand and their own voice both in and outside of the ring. The more interaction they have with their fans, the more people will want to see you perform.”

It’s a fact that most of the superstars of the WWE have received their identities through their WWF stint and Stephanie McMahon was trying to point out on this aspect. This is the exact clause based on which WWE is now trying to stop the superstars from marketing themselves using the WWE in-ring names.
In the meantime, it’s good to note that Stephanie McMahon, her father, and other WWE officials have given the clause a second thought. Dave Meltzer reported on F4Wonline.com that WWE has now relaxed some of the strict rules regarding third-party app using.
It was clarified that talents will be able to maintain both YouTube and Twitch accounts only if they do so under their real names as opposed to their WWE ring names. It was also stated that the concerned names would have to inform the company of YouTube and Twitch accounts using their real names.
