When it comes to WWE’s weekly TV programming, Vince McMahon is indeed the boss without whose information, not even a single segment can’t be confirmed. He has barely missed any television tapings in recent memory even during the pandemic. One of those rare occasions came on the January 29 episode of Friday Night Smackdown.

Vince McMahon was absent from the Gorilla Position after his brother Rod McMahon has passed away. This was a tragic event for the McMahon family, altogether who had to take care of several things after the unfortunate happening. Vinnie Mac isn’t someone who’d love to take a time off from the programming or speak about his family.

The former creative head of WWE and Hall of Famer Jim Ross talked about Vince McMahon’s relationship with his family during his Grilling JR podcast. When the death of his step-mother in 1998 happened due to liver cancer, he said that Vince never talked about his family or mentioned any details about how he was raised. He is someone who likes to keep things private in this matter.

Vince McMahon was sad after his stepmother passed away

Jim briefly mentioned that The Chairman’s stepmother died in 1998 due to liver cancer. Although Vince McMahon was very sad about it, he remained very silent about the incident.

“He didn’t talk a lot about his family back in the day. He was sad that she passed obviously, but it wasn’t something Vince talked a lot about.”

“I don’t think that was a highlight of his life, how he was raised. He didn’t talk a lot about his family and nor did we ask.”

The WWE Universe only knows about Stephanie McMahon, Shane McMahon, and Linda McMahon as Vince McMahon hasn’t made a lot of things known about the rest of his family, at all. There was a plan to bring Rod McMahon onto television, in the past. But the tragic incident of Chris Benoit’s death occurred at a similar time which caused the company to scrap those plans, altogether.
