WWE NXT started its journey as a game show in 2010. With Paul “Triple H” Levesque in charge, the brand was then converted to a developmental brand after two years. For most of its tenure, it worked to churn out new talents that could be supplied to the main roster. There’s been a short change, last year but it’s being reverted back to the old days.

Last year in September, the new logo for WWE NXT 2.0 was revealed as WWE celebrated the one-year anniversary of the revamped brand this week. Last night, a solid show was presented on the occasion that had a steel cage match on the card for NXT tag team titles. It ended with Solo Sikoa winning the North American Championship from Carmelo Hayes.

Sikoa’s title win wasn’t the end of the show as the commentators noted that there was one more thing in store for the fans. This announcement led us to a voice message from the new head of WWE NXT, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels that is given below:

“NXT has been and always will be developing superstars of tomorrow. We will always reflect and acknowledge the past. NXT is constantly evolving with a focus on the future. Superstars develop and move on, but our message to our passionate fans will never change – We Are NXT.”

Triple H is set to make a big change to WWE NXT

The message was followed by a graphic that began with the logo of NXT 2.0 but it slowly transformed into a Black and Gold design that was similar to the original WWE NXT logo, years back. While nothing regarding the change was explicitly discussed, we believe the third brand of the WWE will go back to its roots from next week onward.

Vince McMahon got more involved with the WWE NXT brand in 2021, leading to a reformation as a fresh look debuted September 14 WWE NXT 2.0 episode. However, McMahon has retired from all of his creative duties that led Triple H back to the charge of his brainchild brand.

Triple H, being the Chief Content Officer of the WWE, has made the decision to get back the original WWE NXT brand. Further changes are likely in the show that should be reflected from next week onward.
