Kevin Owens has been seen on WWE Raw live events during weekends but he continues to be absent on television tapings. Being a top superstar, this certainly generates a lot of fan concern. The good thing is that he’s not injured as he has just wrestled in a tag team match on October 29th in Mexico. Perhaps, no confirmed storyline for him may have sidelined him from TV.

A recent report suggested he was pulled from WWE Raw for a totally different reason, that’s due to Sami Zayn’s current momentum with The Bloodline. Apparently, Owens was scheduled to get paired with Sami and possibly with The Bloodline. But things had to be kept off the table due to Sami’s incredible popularity among the WWE Universe due to his involvement with the faction led by Roman Reigns.

The plans around Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have reportedly been pushed back, but they’re not off as the two will eventually become on-screen best friends, again. Whatever they had planned for the top WWE Raw Superstar is on hold since popular stuff with Sami doesn’t come around often. The comedy segments were initially planned for a few weeks but those are likely to be stretched.

Kevin Owens’ WWE Raw absence has nothing to do with Sami Zayn

Ringside News further asked around about the absence of Owens from WWE Raw, and they were informed that he “is off TV and will be back on TV when the time is right.” It was also noted in the report that this absence is intentional and hence an impactful return is expected at the right time.

Moreover, the source was also told by a tenured member of the creative team that the story of Kevin Owens not attending WWE Raw due to Sami Zayn’s popularity is “fake news.” It was stated that this decision had nothing to do with any creative direction with Zayn,

“Owens being off television has nothing to do with Sami, and nothing to do with whether or not KO and Sami end up teaming. Owens being off TV is something completely different and nothing to do anything in that fake news report.”

WWE is seemingly having a lot of plans as the road to WrestleMania begins early next year. With Triple H in charge of WWE Raw and Smackdown, things are likely to be brighter for Kevin Owens once again. The Game has intentionally put things to pause until he comes up with alternate plans for the former Universal Champion.
