Heading into this week’s WWE Smackdown, spoilers were already out regarding a big return in the women’s division that appeared to be true. It was Bianca Belair who came out on WWE programming after a hiatus of two months to seek retribution on DAMAGE CTRL which could eventually set up a matchup over the WWE Women’s Championship.
In the main event of WWE Smackdown, IYO SKY defended the WWE Women’s Title against Charlotte Flair with Damage CTRL’s Bayley and Dakota Kai standing at ringside, this match appeared to be an uphill battle for The Queen in a three-on-one scenario.

WWE Smackdown: Bianca Belair saved Charlotte Flair from a beatdown
IYO SKY won the match by cheating. Flair hit a spear during the closing moments and had SKY pinned unless it was for the heel faction members handing her title. SKY rammed Charlotte into the head with the gold to gain the pinfall win. Once the match was over, Damage CTRL started to beat Charlotte Flair down until Bianca Belair’s music hit.
The EST of WWE then made her return on WWE Smackdown and sent the heel for a retreat. Belair ran off the heels to help Flair by pouncing on Bayley and SKY. After hoisting SKY onto her shoulder, Bayley made the save for the champion but eventually, she ended up receiving the devastating KOD finisher from Belair. The returnee then stood tall with Flair to close the show.
Crown Jewel 2023: Two Title Matches Announced For Saudi Arabia WWE PLE
According to a recent report from PWInsider Elite, Bianca Belair was set to be back on WWE Smackdown as early as this week’s episode and this return was to ensure that she will be a part of WWE’s next premium live event, Crown Jewel, at the Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The former champion was also inserted into the official poster of the PLE.
Now that her return did take place on WWE Smackdown, it’s safe to say that Bianca Belair will eventually challenge IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at the Saudi Arabia event. This will be a rematch after SKY defeated Belair for the title at Summerslam by cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase. Afterward, SKY and her heel buddies also took out Belair on the August 18 episode of WWE Smackdown.
