Post-Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 episode of WWE Smackdown will be presented, this week with the tag team title unification match being the center of attention. Raw tag team champions will make yet another cross-brand attendance to file their pledge for the unifying match. Plus, the WWE women’s tag team titles will also be on the line on the show that takes place at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

There have been a lot of chatters around WWE unifying the Raw and Smackdown tag team titles. At one point, the match was announced while it was taken down with a replacement main event match at Wrestlemania Backlash. Now it’s back in the conversation after what transpired on Raw.

Money In The Bank 2022: WWE May Have To Split Their World Championships

RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle) have been announced for Friday’s post-WrestleMania Backlash edition of WWE SmackDown on FOX as they are still looking to become the inaugural Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

Over on this week’s Raw opening segment, Orton and Riddle came out in the ring, admitting that they came up short while teaming with Drew McIntyre against The Bloodline faction at this past Sunday’s WrestleMania Backlash event. But Orton then promised that they will win the war, that’s the tag team title unification win.

As noted above, Team RK-Bro was originally planned to go up against WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, which would have been to unify the tag team titles. But that match was changed to the six-man non-title tag team match. But Orton and Riddle will still be heading to the blue brand, this week to issue a demand to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns so that he allows his cousins The Usos to go for the title unification match.

Women’s Tag Team Title match has also been officially announced for this week’s WWE Smackdown where Natalya and Shayna Baszler will challenge the champion, Sasha Banks and Naomi. This will the third title defense for the champions following their title win at Wrestlemania 38.

The challengers have all the momentums in their corner as of a recent couple of weeks. Natalya won the main event of this week’s NXT by forcing Cora Jade to pass out in the Sharpshooter. She also helped the up-and-coming Superstar to her feet to close out the show and earn respect from everyone. Her tag partner Shayna Baszler has earned two back-to-back victories over both Naomi and Sasha in singles competitions.

We also have a new WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion in Ronda Rousey who won the title by making the former champion Charlotte Flair “I Quit” at Wrestlemania Backlash 2022. Now that Flair has been confirmed to be out of action on the blue brand, it’ll be interesting to see who Ronda gets as her first challenger to defend her title.
