According to the previous reports of PWInsider, veteran female superstar Melina has signed a contract with WWE. WWE officials were initially interested in bringing her back earlier this year, during the Women’s 2020 Royal Rumble match. But she was under a contract with NWA at that point and she lost that opportunity. Now it seemed that WWE presented her with another opportunity.
It was noted how Melina (age 41) was expected to appear on WWE programming within the month of September, probably on Raw. But that wasn’t the case. She hasn’t been around WWE for a very long time, but these reports of her return to the company got a lot of fans’ hoping about the same to shake things up. But then she denied the report, too.

WWE Wants Melina’s Return To Be Top Secret Within The Company
It was mentioned in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Melina denied the report in a way that seemed to “indicate something was up, as she was mad at why someone would spoil a secret.” In general, WWE Superstars aren’t fans of sources leaking out their comebacks and they try as much as possible to prevent it out. This could be the reason why she’s not seen on WWE TV despite the rumors.
There seems to be something going around there about the former Women’s Champion, but not a lot of people are talking about it because “people in the company who should know did not.” The news of Melina’s return hasn’t been a talked-about thing, backstage as most of them aren’t aware of it, in the first place. WWE also wants it to be in this way as they are hell-bent on making this a secret.
It was further noted that “odds are that it’s true” that Melina is coming back to WWE despite someone who was unable to confirm Mike Johnson’s report. This seems to be a situation similar to Edge’s return from earlier this year where they kept information very close to the vest. At this point, we can only wonder what WWE’s plan for Melina is, right now.
During his Hall Of Fame radio show, Booker T spoke about Melina as he’d love to see this return. She could be work with some of the women of WWE, today. He also praised the incredible athlete to be one of the best actors of WWE, at one point.
“I think the talent can definitely feed off of it. People can say what they want to say about the business, but some people bring it to life. Melina is one of those people that when she went out and performed, she brought it to life. When she was beating up those girls, you really felt the tension that was going down in the ring. It felt real. She was one of the best actors we had at that time. I say actors because that’s what we do – we go out and perform.”
