This week’s WWE NXT was a dramatic one where a massive return by Samoa Joe in the opening segment marked the highlight of the show. Ending all the speculations, William Regal hasn’t stepped down from his General Manager’s spot but rather got an enforcer of his own in the former NXT Champion. That has to arise the question of whether Joe will be involved in some matches in due course.
We must have received an indication of the future happenings as Samoa Joe was physically involved on the show for a brief moment. Regal kicked off NXT this week with his big announcement, addressing the current state in NXT and what led to an upcoming change. He was a bit emotional throughout the beginning of his speech after which Karrion Kross interrupted him with Scarlett.
WWE NXT Champion literally laughed at Regal and welcome the thought of him leaving the company. At this juncture, Samoa Joe’s music hit the arena as Regal offered him to become the new GM of the show. Joe denied that offer as he’s not the one to fill in the shoes. But he’s assured that Regal will receive the respect he deserves.

Samoa Joe put Adam Cole into Coquina Clutch
Later, William Regal booked Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly for the Great American Bash as the two brawled at the backstage area. Then things went chaotic, again as Cole pushed Samoa Joe. It didn’t take long for the Samoan Submission Machine to lock in the Coquina Clutch on Cole, on the spot.
William Regal made it clear, earlier the night that Samoa Joe is not cleared to compete who will also not hit anyone unless he is provoked. But he was provoked by Cole and hit him back, leaving us wondering what could be in store for him, next.
This was the first time since early 2020 that Samoa Joe had gone physical on WWE TV. Reports still claim that he’s not cleared to compete after that head concussion. Even WWE NXT officials wanted him to appear in a non-wrestling capacity but things could change in the future. The former US Champion was re-signed with the NXT brand for a reason and WWE will certainly like him to be involved in competition, down the line. We have to stay tuned for more updates on the situation.
