Less than a couple of weeks remaining from the annual TLC event, WWE is bringing the second last episode of SmackDown before the pay-per-view. To date, we have not officially received a match for the show which is why anticipations are high around upcoming announcements.
The headliner of the show will revolve around Roman Reigns as he continues the feud with the current rival. Plus, he will also compete in a match as confirmed.
King Corbin looks to humiliate Reigns after being upstaged for two consecutive weeks. Daniel Bryan was taken to a hole dug by The Fiend, last week. We’ll get to know the latest update on him.
Also, storylines should shed light on multiple returnees and future plans around them. All of these and more are expected on this week’s SmackDown that takes place at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
The rivalry between King Corbin and Roman Reigns has been going on since October. It continues targeting the next matchup at TLC pay-per-view. For the past couple of weeks, The Big Dog was unleashed on the 2019 King of the Ring winner and stood tall.
The latter one was irate about this and decided to vow redemption. As confirmed by WWE.com, King Baron Corbin promised to humiliate Roman Reigns in an undisclosed way,
“A dog mascot with a chihuahua’s bark, an attempted scepter attack by a trusty subject; none of it has worked in King Corbin’s recent attempts to tarnish the standing of Roman Reigns. Now Corbin vows to humiliate The Big Dog in his ongoing quest to wrest control of the SmackDown locker room.
Will Corbin reign supreme or can Reigns once again turn the tables on the King and his court? Catch Friday Night SmackDown on FOX at 8/7 C.”
Also, it is now official that Roman Reigns will be featured in action against Dolph Ziggler. It is almost certain that Corbin and Roode will be present at ringside and will try to deliver a beatdown on Reigns. Can the Big Dog escape this? We’ll find out on SmackDown.
Last week, SmackDown ended in a fearful way where The Fiend prevailed, yet again. Daniel Bryan accepted a rematch with him where the WWE Championship will be on the line. Moments after the confirmation, The Fiend came out of a hole underneath the ring and dragged Bryan into it. Moments later, we saw The Fiend coming out with a chunk of hairs which raised questions of Bryan’s status, (courtesy WWE.com)
“Despite a brutal loss at Survivor Series and a surprisingly heartfelt warning from The Miz, Bryan couldn’t help but say “Yes!” to the latest challenge from “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. The Universal Champion is doing everything he can to dig deeper into the mind of Bryan and ended last week’s SmackDown with the twisted attach on his rival.
What will Bryan look like after Wyatt’s amateur barber work? And will Bryan still welcome a rematch with the deranged champion?”
Apparently, this was a setup that is set to cause a changed look for Daniel Bryan. As reported earlier, the leader of the YES movement may come out sporting shorter hair or even a bald look. This raises the curiosity among the fans around the segment which also may confirm the title match at TLC PPV.
In the Women’s Championship scenario, Lacey Evans punched Sasha Banks to the face to turn into a babyface which should earn her a title shot in the future.
A heel Bayley did not take the Women’s Right to her best friend for sure. Hence, she might just go on to challenge Evans for the title and thereby start a fresh feud on SmackDown.
Last week, three big returns happened on SmackDown in the form of Sheamus, Alexa Bliss, and Elias. Whereas Bliss was inserted to the tag team picture with buddy Nikki Cross, we did not receive any angles for the rest of the twos. Hopefully, WWE arranges new and impactful storylines for them, as well to give some momentums towards them.
