Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal finished the 2016 T20 World Cup as the leading run-scorer. The left-handed batsman scored 295 runs in six innings of that tournament with a batting average of 73.75 and strike-rate of 142.51.
Tamim smashed one century and one half-century in that tournament. During the First Round of that tournament, Tamim scored 103 not out against Oman at Dharamsala on 13th March 2016. It was also the highest individual score in that tournament while the Caribbean batsman Chris Gayle was the only other batsman to smash a century in that tournament (100 not out against England at Mumbai on 16th March 2016 during the Super 10 Stage of that tournament).
