ICC World Cup 2015 was the 11th edition of the tournament and was jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Australia came out as the victorious in the tournament in the world cup registering the first win in their soil.
In the grand finale against New Zealand, the Australian team led by Michael Clarke registered the victory by seven wickets. The Kiwis had given the low target of 183 runs to the strong Australian side. They were unsuccessful in defending their target as Michael Clarke and Steve Smith scored half-centuries to guide the team to lift the fifth World Cup title.
During the tournament, several records were build up by batsmen and bowlers. Here, in this article, we have mentioned the five best bowling figures registered during the ICC World Cup 2015.
5. Imran Tahir:
Pakistani born Imran Tahir is the greatest bowler of South Africa. His desire to succeed at the top-level has helped him defy age. He is the white-ball specialist spinner and is famously known for his wicket celebration.
The leg spinner made the debut for Proteas in 2011 and became the world-class player in a short span. He attained his best form in the World Cup 2015. He was the second-highest wicket-taker for his side after Morne Morkel. During the tournament, his sensational performance came against West Indies. He dismantled the middle order of the Carribeans, picking five wickets in his 10 overs quota.
South Africa reached the semifinal of the tournament but had heartbreak as they lost the match against New Zealand. In that match, Tahir was the most economical bowler – giving away only 40 runs in his nine overs.
