WWE Money In The Bank 2019 Match Card, Preview & Predictions
Money in the Bank has always been one of the most important pay-per-view events in WWE history. The gimmick based show ensures future champions from men and women’s division that in turn decides who the top superstars are going to be for the upcoming months.
This year, WWE has preponed Money in the Bank from its original spot in the month of June at a time when their TV programming is going through a crisis. Ratings hit record-time lows alongside threats from the rise of All Elite Wrestling. Despite this, the card of the show looks more than stacked, ever.
A dream match is the headliner for the show from WWE Raw that takes place over the Universal title. The WWE Championship will also be on the line along with two women’s championships. The two mandatory men and women’s division Money in the Bank ladder matches will also be there that brings unpredictability to the show.
Here are the predictions from 2019 Money in the Bank that takes place at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
The Usos vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions Rowan and Daniel Bryan (c)
Prediction-It’s a rematch from two weeks ago where Bryan and Rowan defeated The Usos to win Smackdown tag team titles. This is a no-brainer that The Usos are getting their shot at redemption to the heels. The fact that the titles are not on the line also ensures that the Samoan brothers will beat the tag champs fair and square at Money in the Bank kick-off.
Raw Women’s Championship Match: Becky Lynch vs. Lacey Evans
Prediction-Lacey Evans has been very impressive in her short stint in the WWE hinting that she’d be a bonafide women’s champion. Even Vince McMahon is very high on her. But it’d be too much for her to pick up the title in her first opportunity. Rather Becky should win this one to move to Raw, permanently.
Smackdown Women’s Championship Match: Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair
Prediction- The earlier match prediction leads to the second duty Becky Lynch will have to pull off at Money in the Bank. Although she deserves to beat Charlotte Flair again, the storyline may not allow this to happen. Flair is the favorite to win back the Smackdown gold to make Becky a permanent member of Raw and thereby end the feud that is ongoing for almost a year.
Men’s Money in the Bank Match: Ricochet vs. Braun Strowman vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Baron Corbin vs. Finn Balor vs. Ali vs. Andrade vs. Randy Orton
Prediction-Andrade is a clear favorite to win the 2019 men’s division Money in the Bank ladder match from the get-go. But there could be a sudden change in plan following this week’s WWE Raw. Sami Zayn replaced Braun Strowman in this match which may have been one purposeful insertion by the creative team. The veteran superstar seems to be the current front-runner in capturing the briefcase that assures him to become a champion in the future.
Women’s Money in the Bank Match: Natalya vs. Dana Brooke vs. Naomi vs. Nikki Cross vs. Bayley vs. Mandy Rose vs. Ember Moon vs. Carmella
Prediction- The biggest attraction Alexa Bliss is not in the match leaving a big void. There are no real favorites in this Money in the Bank ladder considering the current storyline prospectives. Mandy Rose could be a valid option but she’s been on a losing spree, lately, that makes Bayley the current favorite. She is trying to rebuild herself to the championship picture and this win will come handy for her more than anybody in the lineup.
Roman Reigns vs. Elias
Prediction- This feud has been a solid one that featured on both WWE Raw and Smackdown for the past couple of weeks. Elias can create troubles with his heel antics and outside interferences to Roman Reigns. But it is not likely that the Big Dog digests a loss just after moving to Smackdown Live. We predict he will find a way to win the match despite the odds.
Steel Cage Match: The Miz vs. Shane McMahon
Prediction- WWE arranged this match at Money in the Bank only to allow The Miz to settle the score with McMahon from Wrestlemania 35. Shane will try to outsmart the A-lister with hired goons from the active roster. But Miz should prevail in the end in a No Disqualification environment.
United States Championship match: Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio
Prediction- This feud has been a decent one between these two veterans since Wrestlemania pick-up season. The only thing that lacks here is great matchup by the two great in-ring workers. Hopefully, WWE books them with enough time to deliver a fine contest. Mysterio’s son will play an important role in this Money in the Bank either to help his dad win or cause him to lose.
WWE Championship Match:
Kofi Kingston vs. Kevin Owens
Prediction- Kofi-Mania is still running wild on the WWE Universe that began at Wrestlemania 35. Kevin Owens is hell-bent on putting his hands on the title but the fans’ support should be the most valid reason that officials will choose to keep the belt on Kingston. In fact, reports claim that he will have a long title reign that goes through this entire summer.
WWE Universal Championship Match: Seth Rollins vs. AJ Styles
Prediction- The dream match is finally happening in WWE with less buildup. But that won’t these two veterans to deliver a match that we will remember for a long time. Both men are on their prime with championship hunger, being the only goal. AJ Styles has never been so focused ever since jumping on Raw but Seth Rollins is the man who runs things around the flagship show. So he is not dropping the belt just after winning it at Wrestlemania.
