Charlotte Flair Reaches Another Milestone In Her WWE Career

Charlotte Flair is the benchmark athlete available on the women’s roster in the WWE who is approaching closer to her father’s 16 world championships. At present, she is standing with 12 title reigns by her name after capturing the Raw Women’s Title at Summerslam 2021 in Triple Threat also featuring Rhea Ripley and Nikki Cross ASH.

Following the win, Charlotte Flair already had a successful title defense against Nia Jax on this past week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. As the reign continues, the top superstar from the red brand also achieved another milestone in her illustrious WWE career. She has already completed a total of 1,000 days as a champion in the WWE.

A report from WWFOldSchool noted that Charlotte Flair has been champion during her WWE tenure for over 1000 days. This includes every title reign that she has ever had (NXT Women’s Title, RAW/SmackDown Women’s Title, WWE Divas Title, Women’s Tag Team Title)

Counting all these titles, her title win could have reached 15 but WWE only counts the main roster belts as recognized reigns which is why The Queen stands with 12 title reigns. The only other wrestler on the current WWE women’s roster who has spent 1000 days as a champion is Asuka. Apart from title wins on Raw and Smackdown, Asuka was the reigning NXT Women’s Champion for 500+ days.

Apart from Charlotte Flair and Asuka, the only woman who has been champion for over 1,000 days in the company is The Fabulous Moolah. The next woman who could enter the club enter is Bayley, who has been champion for a total of 951 days in WWE. At present, she is out of action due to an injury suffered, earlier this year. Projections indicate that she could miss 6-9 months of action starting this past summer.

As for Charlotte Flair, she has already been booked for the next title defense at WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view. In this match, she will defend her title against Alexa Bliss. WWE made the match official after this week’s RAW went off the air.

On Monday night, Charlotte Flair retained her title over Nia Jax after interference from Shayna Baszler. Jax suffered a loss as the tension between Baszler and Jax continued while Bliss, with Lilly, confronted Flair after the match and pointed out to the title. The two had a few words before a staredown ended the segment.

Top WWE Raw Superstar Possibly Out Of Action Due To Injury

WWE RAW Superstar Asuka has been absent from WWE TV since the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the July 18 pay-per-view. WWE has never provided any update over her status while the absence did leave a big void on the red brand. During the pandemic era of the WWE, it was the Japanese superstar who carried the load on the red brand.

Now that the fans are back in attendance, they can’t enjoy Asuka’s quick-fire moves which raised eyebrows. Earlier this week, she shared a picture of herself in an arm brace, pretty much confirming that she’s been out of action due to injury.

The former WWE Raw Women’s Champion revealed on Twitter that she “finally got new teeth” after losing them six months ago. It was back in March of this year that she underwent dental surgery. At that point, it was also revealed that it would take six months for her teeth to completely heal from the dental injury. Originally, that injury occurred when Shayna Baszler kicked her in the mouth during a tag team match on the February 22 episode of RAW.

But due to that incident, Asuka never missed any TV time, leading up to Wrestlemania 37. She dropped the Raw Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley and since then got written off WWE TV after she failed to recapture the Money in the Bank briefcase.

It was noted in early August by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Asuka was just not being used since the creative team doesn’t have anything for her right now. An injury wasn’t revealed to be the reason for her absence.

Later, the Empress of Tomorrow herself offered a clarification to the story by issuing the following statement,

“Nothing has been revealed. That information is totally wrong. Really different. Completely different. Everything is different. I would like to ask the information provider. Don’t make a fake story.”

As it seems, Asuka is dealing with an undisclosed injury, as of now which is the reason that WWE has been forced to keep her out of action. There’s no confirmation available on whether she will begin working non-televised WWE live events soon, or be back on RAW in due course.

Charlotte Flair Believes Her Career Changed After WrestleMania 34

Former eleven times WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair who is also a two times WWE NXT Women’s champion recently said that he believed her career change after she defeated Asuka and successfully defended WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 34.

WWE started the women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018 and the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match was won by the Empress of Tomorrow Asuka. She challenged WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34.

Asuka was undefeated before entering this match. Everyone was expecting a huge push for the Empress of Tomorrow. But Charlotte shocked the world when she defeated Asuka and beat her undefeated streak. This outcome is still considered as one of the most shocking results in WrestleMania history.

But this match was also the mark of overpushing Charlotte. She has already won eleven WWE women’s Championships in total, which is more than anyone in WWE history. She still has a long way to go so surely she will win so many other titles.

Charlotte Flair who is also a two times WWE NXT Women’s champion recently featured as a guest on Ryan Satin’s Out Of Character podcast where she said that he believed her career change after she defeated Asuka and successfully defended WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 34.

“I really feel that my match with Asuka took me to the next level, when I broke her streak at WrestleMania. She had nothing to prove and someone who works backstage, who I’m super close to, thought I was going to lose.

“I was like, ‘I was the underdog?’ Putting Asuka in the figure eight was my favorite. That match is just incredible. The whole story, we only had a two-week build. That one was probably the biggest.

“If I put it on, I’ve usually won with it. No one has gotten out of the bridge. They’ve gotten out of the figure four, but not the figure eight.”

WWE Money In The Bank 2021: Two Title Matches; Ladder Match Participants Revealed

Kofi Kingston will challenge WWE Champion Bobby Lashley for the title at WWE Money In The Bank 2021.

As seen on this week’s Raw, The New Day interrupted Lashley’s championship win celebration over Drew McIntyre at Hell In A Cell 2021. Kofi Kingston showed footage where he pinned Lashley a few weeks ago and then demanded a WWE Championship match at Money In The Bank 2021 PPV.

Lashley gladly accepted the challenge, but then the match was converted into a Hell in a Cell match. It appeared that if Kofi had to get the Title match, then his tag team partner Xavier Woods must face Lashley in a Hell in a Cell match on RAW. During this main event, Lashley picked up a dominant win over Woods to send a message to Kofi.

WWE has also announced a rematch from Hell In a Cell rematch for Money In the Bank 2021 pay-per-view. During this week’s RAW, Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville noted that Charlotte Flair will challenge RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley at the pay-per-view, again in a singles contest. Flair challenged Ripley at Hell In a Cell but Ripley intentionally got herself disqualified to retain her belt.

WWE Hell In A Cell 2021: Drew McIntyre Posts Brutal Post-Match Photos

More Superstars had made it to Money In The Bank 2021 PPV as this week’s RAW featured a series of qualifying matches. Riddle defeated Drew McIntyre to qualify, while John Morrison defeated Randy Orton to qualify for the Men’s Money In the Bank Ladder Match. Ricochet also defeated AJ Styles to qualify.

As for the female counterpart of the MITB Ladder Match for this year, four Superstars have grabbed their spots. Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss defeated Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax while Asuka and Naomi defeated Eva Marie and Doudrop to qualify for the Women’s Money In the Bank Ladder Match.

WWE Legend Batista Reacted To Asuka Photo-shopping Her Face On Twitter

WWE Hall of Famer Batista loves to have interactions with her fellow superstars as well as fans using her social media profiles. There was a point that she almost started dating Raw Superstar Dana Brooke over a conversation on Twitter. That didn’t really end well for the two but the former champion still feels free to share his opinion with the public.

So, he has to react to a picture posted by an active WWE Superstar that involved him. WWE RAW Superstar Asuka took to Twitter to share a photoshopped image of her face attached to the body of WWE Legend Batista. She captioned the photo by saying, “This is real.” The post saw Asuka with the Raw Women’s Title on her shoulder while her body was converted to one of the all-time greats.

Batista noticed the tweet and reacted in the following way, “I need to process this for awhile!” A bit later, the former WWE Superstar said he had finished processing the image and gave Asuka permission to use his body. Asuka replied to that comment with a pair of clapping and smiling emojis.

Batista is a big supporter of Asuka

For those who don’t know, Batista is a strong supporter of Asuka who blasted WWE over bad bookings around her in the past. The WWE Instagram account posted a clip of Asuka losing a non-title match to RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley on a recent episode of RAW. The Animal responded to it and called WWE out for this kind of booking towards Asuka.

“Seriously? Jobbing out Asuka?! [rolling eyes emoji] WTF?,” the six-time world champion wrote in the comments section.

This isn’t the first time that Batista has extended his support for Asuka on social media. In May 2020 after Becky Lynch relinquished the RAW Women’s Title to Asuka before taking time off for her pregnancy, he re-tweeted a clip of the segment and called Asuka his hero.

The two of them definitely had the opportunity to share the ring in a WWE ring as the two belonged to two different generations. Batista was supposed to receive his Hall of Fame honor, earlier this year but that was canceled for some unknown reasons.

Asuka Wants To Wrestle WWE Legends Triple H And Ric Flair

Asuka was built to be one of the top stars of the female roster of the WWE over the past several years. There was a point when she was undefeated for over a couple of years. She had received many challenges in her WWE career and she’s always ready to get some more. She can even go beyond the women’s division originating the idea of intergender matches.

The former RAW Women’s Champion is ready to take on two Hall of Famers if chances would be provided to her. ET Canada recently spoke to Asuka to have a good conversation about her life and professional wrestling career. She addressed being a role model for the Asian community while also sharing a personal experience of racism in America.

During the interview, Asuka was asked about dream matches as he noted some interesting matches. She would love to wrestle legendary Ric Flair and Triple H. Now, The Nature Boy won’t be allowed to take any more bumps in the ring considering his age, but who knows whether The Game would be interested to be an opponent for her.

“I want to wrestle with Triple H and Ric Flair. I fought many great WWE superstars. Oh, (I want to wrestle) Ronda Rousey. One day!”

Asuka is an inspiration for Asian women

Ronda Rousey could obviously be a good choice to be an opponent for Asuka, setting up a dream match. But Rousey’s recent pregnancy announcement means that she’s not returning to the scene, anytime soon. Any match in her future needs to be ruled out from the context. Rousey may just find her way back to WWE, eventually. But that won’t be happening, at least within nine months.

Asuka already built her name as a huge pro wrestling star in Japan prior to making her way to the USA. Her success in WWE put her on the map, however where she can be considered as an idol. But miles away from her native land, it certainly hasn’t been an easy road for her to travel. She had to work hard to chase success.

Speaking with ET Canada, Asuka wanted to be an inspiration to other aspiring superstars, as well,

“My friends gave me confidence, ‘You can do it, you can do it!’ I called a wrestling company in Tokyo. I left my hometown of Osaka, Japan. Now I am a WWE superstar. Don’t give up on your dream!”

WWE Raw Preview (24/05/21): Tag Team Title Match; Open Challenge Fallout

Official builds for Hell In A Cell PPV are yet to commence on WWE Raw as we receive the second episode following WrestleMania Backlash. A segment featuring the fallout of last week’s Open Challenge will be there along with a fresh match on the card. Women’s Tag Team Championships will also be on the line when the show airs from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.

Despite his massive win at WrestleMania Backlash in a Triple Threat, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley decided to make WWE Raw appearance rather than heading into a vacation. He was also happy about issuing an Open Challenge to the locker room which was accepted right away by Drew McIntyre. But the challenge excluded McIntyre and Strowman.

Major Update On John Cena Returning To WWE In 2021 Summer

By the end of the night, Bobby Lashley found out that Kofi Kingston was going to be his opponent and he backed down from putting the WWE Title on the line. The end of the match witnessed Kofi eventually pinning Lashley in a major upset. It came after McIntyre came out and distracted Lashley by taking the cane out of MVP’s hands.

There will be fallouts from this Open Challenge on WWE Raw as seen on the promotional video for this week. It seems like Kofi Kingston is in the line to receive a WWE Title match opportunity after his pinfall win, last week. At the same time, McIntyre won’t be out of the title picture who is also slated to face Lashley in a singles contest, perhaps inside Hell In A Cell structure.

WWE Raw Preview (24/05/21): Riddle vs Xavier Woods

WWE Raw Preview (24/05/21): Tag Team Title Match; Open Challenge Fallout 66

A fresh match has been announced for this week’s WWE Raw as Riddle is set to face Xavier Woods in a singles contest. On last week’s show, Kofi Kingston not only pinned Bobby Lashley but also earned another pinfall win over Randy Orton, thanks to a distraction from Woods at ringside.

After the match, Orton’s tag partner, Riddle, didn’t appreciate Woods’ tactics and shoved him to the mat. This is the reason why this first-ever match will go down between the two. Orton should be standing in the corner of Riddle for the match as the duo is acting as a team. They previously worked together in an eight-man tag match victory but tensions are rising between the two teams, since then.

WWE Raw will also witness WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina Snuka defending their titles against the former champions, Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax. This one is going to be the second rematch for Baszler and Jax within a week.

Last week, Natalya and Snuka retained their titles after an explosion created by Alexa Bliss and Lilly from the stage. The explosion knocked Reginald to the floor and the distraction allowed the champions to retain.

WWE Raw Preview (24/05/21): Tag Team Title Match; Open Challenge Fallout 67

Jax and Baszler dropped the titles to Natalya and Tamina during the Throwback SmackDown episode. The second rematch for WWE Raw was announced during this past SmackDown episode, which saw Jax, Baszler, and Bayley defeat Natalya, Snuka, and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Baszler made Natalya submit to her Kirifuda Clutch for the finish to earn this consecutive rematch.

WWE Raw Women’s Championship pictures will continue to revolve around Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Asuka. Flair was looking forward to having a one-on-one title match opportunity but last week, Asuka pinned her during the post WrestleMania Backlash show. Could this set up the Empress Of Tomorrow a rematch against Ripley? We’ll find out when WWE’s flagship show airs with the latest episode from ThunderDome.

WWE Raw Preview (10/05/21): Lashley vs. McIntyre; Tag Team Matches

WWE Raw will come up with the final episode before this weekend’s WrestleMania Backlash with a massive main event between Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre. Apart from the WrestleMania rematch, two separate tag team matches have also been announced for the show that takes place from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley is slated for a mega title defense, six days from now when he squares off against Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman in a Triple Threat at WrestleMania Backlash. In order to send a message to his opponents, Lashley decided to take on each of his challengers in singles contests, two weeks in a row.

Last week, he had a match against Strowman that ended with McIntyre standing tall by putting both of them down with Claymore Kicks. This week, Lashley gets a shot at redemption when he goes one-on-one with the Scottish Warrior in a non-title bout. The gigantic clash will present a fitting main event on WWE Raw as the question remains who would stand tall in the end.

WWE Raw Preview (10/05/21): Six-Woman Tag Team Match

Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler will team up with Charlotte in a six-woman tag team match on WWE Raw against the team of Asuka, Mandy Rose, and Dana Brooke. As confirmed by WWE, Asuka and Charlotte are set to challenge WWE RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania Backlash on May 16.

As for the tag champs, they are scheduled to defend against Natalya and Tamina Snuka on this coming episode of SmackDown. Last week, they were put into another title defense against Naomi and Lana who were unsuccessful at their attempts. At present, Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke are also trying for a title shot. A win on tonight’s WWE Raw might just earn them a shot.

An eight-man tag match has also been announced for the show where Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Randy Orton, and Riddle will team up against WWE RAW Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Omos, Elias, and Jaxson Ryker. After a three-week hiatus, the tag champs returned on the show to pick up a dominant win over Woods and Kingston.

In the meantime, Team RK-Bro has picked up quite the momentums over the past couple of weeks. They picked back-to-back wins over Cedric Alexander – Shelton Benjamin and Elias – Jaxson Ryker which indicated that a massive push might be waiting. Another win this week could now earn them a shot to the WWE Raw tag team titles.

Rhea Ripley On WWE Wrestlemania 37, ‘That Was A Dream Of Mine’

Rhea Ripley was a major part of this year’s WrestleMania where she competed in the second match of her career at the Show of Shows. It was also her two consecutive appearances at this grand stage in title match bouts. Unlike last year, the 24-year-old superstar was actually successful who emerged on top with the new title around her waist.

As seen at WrestleMania 37, Rhea Ripley wrestled Asuka and defeated her to win the Raw Women’s Championship. In the 36th edition, she came up short against Charlotte Flair in a heartbreaking loss. The situation in those two events wasn’t similar as this year she got to perform in front of an audience while last year it was just an empty building.

Thousands of fans cheering for her at the Raymond James Stadium certainly provided her with the enthusiasm she needed for the first official match on WWE main roster. This was quite an experience for the future of the WWE’s female locker room and she enjoyed every single bit of it. At least she admitted the same in a recent conversation.

Rhea Ripley mentioned Wrestlemania 37 lived up to the expectations

During a recent appearance in the Out Of Character podcast, Rhea Ripley spoke about her WrestleMania 37 moment. It was like a dream to her to perform in a big-time match at the Showcase of Immortals. To make things even better, the Brutality singles track was performed, live during her entrance.

Rhea Ripley On WWE Wrestlemania 37, 'That Was A Dream Of Mine' 90

“Just to get in the ring with her and finally get that moment to face Asuka. I was so excited and pumped. It definitely lived up to my expectations. I wish that we got to wrestle a little beforehand so we’d know each other that much more. It was still amazing to me and I had so much fun,” Rhea Ripley sounded excited.

“That was a dream of mine to have an actual live performance, especially at WrestleMania. That is a dream for many people, I’d guess. It was just surreal and really special. It definitely felt more like my first true WrestleMania moment.”

Rhea Ripley is the reigning Raw Women’s Champion who is now heading toward her second title defense. At WrestleMania Backlash, she will face Charlotte Flair and Asuka in a Triple Threat. No fans will be in attendance on May 16th for that PPV but that won’t stop the champion from delivering a stellar performance in order to retain her belt.

WWE Wrestlemania Backlash 2021: New Triple Threat Title Match Announced

The third title match for WrestleMania Backlash event has been confirmed on Monday Night RAW and it will be contested for the Raw Women’s Championship. As expected, Charlotte Flair will be involved in the upcoming match, a decision that many in the WWE Universe may have not liked. But WWE just can’t leave The Queen out of the title picture, no matter what.

That being said, WWE has officially added Charlotte Flair to the RAW Women’s Title match. It was originally supposed to be Asuka challenging the champion Rhea Ripley at the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view. But the WrestleMania 37 title rematch will now be a Triple Threat where Rhea doesn’t have to be involved in pinfall or submission to drop the belt.

WrestleMania Backlash will mark Ripley’s second title defense since winning the belt from Asuka at WrestleMania 37. Asuka had a rematch on the post-WrestleMania edition of RAW but the referee ruled that one a No Contest due to interference from Charlotte Flair. Since then, it’s been rumored that Flair would be added to the singles feud.

Asuka vs. Ripley was announced before this week’s RAW hit the air while Flair was added to the match during a segment with SmackDown Official Sonya Deville as the show was underway.

Charlotte Flair defeated Dana Brooke in a singles contest and then pointed out to Deville why she shouldn’t be added to the title match at WrestleMania Backlash. She cut a promo on how she can take the women’s division to bigger heights than Asuka and Ripley. Plus, the match would receive a lot more importance if the ten-time Women’s Champion gets added to it.

Flair continued the demand saying how she is the original influencer in WWE, urging Deville to “be fair to Flair.” Deville eventually agreed to her words and said since the men’s division got to have their Triple Threat at the upcoming PPV, she is adding Flair to Asuka vs. Ripley to make it a Women’s Triple Threat.
