Delhi Capitals were chasing an improbable 209 runs for an important victory. The Delhi-based outfit needed a strong start to chase down the big score and Warner gave them exactly that. In the 11 deliveries he faced before being given out, the Australia star had smashed one four and a couple of sixes. However, his promising knock was cut short by Menon in the fifth over. Menon had no hesitation in raising his finger after a delivery from Maheesh Theekshana hit Warner on his pad.

Warner had gone for the reverse shot but the length did not allow him to play the shot. In the end, the ball ended up hitting on his back thigh. The CSK fielders went up in unison and Menon raised his finger. Warner reviewed the decision straightaway but luck was not on his side. Ball-tracking showed the ball to be just clipping the off-bail and the third umpire went with the umpire’s original call. And as the replay played on the giant screen, Warner could not hide his disappointment.

The furious southpaw was seen giving Menon a stare as he walked past him. The video of the incident has gone viral on the social media. Following the incident, the cricket fraternity has once again criticised the umpiring level in the biggest and the richest cricket tournament of the world.

DC suffer big loss:
In an important game where DC would have liked to be on the winning side, they ended up losing the contest by 91 runs. Batting first, CSK posted a massive total of 208 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. In-form opener Devon Conway continued his fine form with the bat and slammed 87 off just 49 balls. In reply, DC were all out for just 117 inside 18 overs. For CSK, Moeen Ali starred with the ball, picking up 3 for just 13 off his 4 overs.
