He [Vader] goes, ‘I gotta work with Undertaker at Royal Rumble’ and he goes, ‘I think I’m gonna have to put him over’ and I said, ‘You think?’ He said, ‘I’ve got an idea.’ He says, ‘Do you think if I did a moonsault and Taker caught me and could Tombstone me?’ He said, ‘Could he do that?’

“I said, ‘Of course he could.’ I said, ‘Listen, just call it on the fly.’ So Leon, he can’t stand it. He’s got this big move that he can’t tell, so finally he’s sitting by Taker. We’re somewhere down there in Florida getting ready for Rumble and he’s sitting by Taker and he tells him the spot.

“He’s going to do a moonsault, Taker’s gonna catch him and spike him. It would have impaled both of ‘em. It would have killed both of them. So Taker’s sitting there just looking straight ahead as Leon’s talking to him from the side.

“Taker pats him on the leg, gets up and walks out of the dressing room, doesn’t say a word. Leon looks at me, he goes, ‘What does that mean?’ I go, ‘He loved it.’ Taker pulled me aside later and he goes, ‘Have you been riding with Leon?’ I said, ‘Maybe.’”

The Undertaker Could Appear At WWE Super Smackdown From MSG 16

The Undertaker retired with his Wrestlemania record being 24-2. Originally, he wanted this streak to be something different which may not have a loss on it. The Undertaker was a guest on the Pardon My Take podcast, last year where he revealed that he wanted to keep his ‘Mania winning streak intact,

“Yeah, on a personal level, of course. Selfishly, would I have liked to have gone 25, 26-0? Of course. I mean, that would probably have been the greatest record in all of wrestling.

But, business is business, and sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down. The most important thing, after that one, afterwards, I mean, I was concussed. So, I didn’t even remember it. I was more concerned afterwards about my head to stop hurting and being able to come out of the dark for a couple weeks.”

Bruce Prichard Remembers The Stalker Storyline Between Undertaker And DDP

The Executive Director of WWE SmackDown “Brother Love” Bruce Prichard recently remembered the infamous stalker storyline between the Undertaker and Diamond Dallas Page from 2001.

The storyline revolved around the time period of the Invasion era in 2001. After Vince McMahon purchased WCW & ECW, a lot of wrestlers and legends from the mentioned above promotions arrived in WWE. Diamond Dallas Page was one of the biggest names of WCW that came to WWE after Vince McMahon bought the whole promotion.

Bruce Prichard Remembers The Stalker Storyline Between Undertaker And DDP

The storyline was something like this, Sara Calaway; the wife of the Undertaker was being stalked by an unknown masked person for months. Undertaker along with his brother Kane was trying to find out who was this stalker. Finally, the masked man revealed his face in an episode of Monday Night RAW and it was none other than Diamond Dallas Page.

After that Undertaker Had a Feud with Diamond Dallas Page which went on for a couple of months. The feud was won by the Undertaker and the former three times WCW World Heavyweight Champion could not contribute in WWE much after that.

Bruce Prichard recently spoke on this story line between the Undertaker and diamond Dallas page on a recent episode of Something To Wrestle. Here is what he had to say about this in famous storyline;

Bruce Prichard
Bruce Prichard. Image Credits: Twitter

“I did. I thought it was a completely great idea. In hindsight, it was fucking horrible and not one of the stellar moments. Looking at different ways and different things – I’m a big true crime aficionado, and I like to read about different things and creepy shit like that. Stalkers are creepy.

“When you read about some of the things stalkers would do and how they would stalk their prey – there’s a great book I would recommend get, it’s called The Last Victim. It was written by a guy who wanted to be an FBI profiler, and he would write letters to convicted serial killers in the character that he thought they would respond to and the type of people he would think they would be attracted to.

Bruce Prichard

“I just study that kind of stuff and enjoy it. The stalker gimmick was a creepy thing where we had seen Taker’s wife and you were really going to get to someone – that someone is in your home and they’re there and have evidence of being in your home. That’s a sick, creepy feeling that they were right there and you didn’t know it.

“That was the idea behind it. I don’t know that we did the best job portraying that, obviously not in hindsight. It didn’t work by any stretch of the imagination. I don’t know if it was the talent involved or the story or the idea in general. That one was a flop. That was all mine.”

“Looking back it’s insane. In the moment everything is going so fast and you just have to go with it, you don’t have the chance to panic. I am 20 at that time, I have only been in wrestling for a year or so.

“I think the reason I got chosen is because of the promos and talking came always natural for me. I was in New England at that time and they (WWE) were in town, so they contact Killer Kowalski and asked for some suggestions. A few of us went there and without any tryout, just based on appearance I got chosen to portrait the lawyer that day.

“The day was nuts. One of the stories I’ve told before, which looking back now is just crazy, is that Stephanie McMahon took it upon herself to give me a full tour of the venue, backstage, everything. She spent like 30 minutes with me.”

The Undertaker: Akshay Kumar Reminds He Once Defeated WWE Legend

The Undertaker has been defeated by only a handful of superstars in his WWE career as he was a well-protected character in the company. Besides those lucky superstars from professional wrestling, there’s one more name who had also done that unthinkable, all the way back in the 90s who recently reminded about his accolade by noting the same on social media.

Top Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to remind the world that he holds the honor of defeating WWE Legend The Undertaker. He did the same in a film, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, not inside the squared circle, of course.

On the eve of the 25-year anniversary of his film Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Akshay Kumar shared a meme that also includes Brock Lesnar, Triple H, and Roman Reigns – three names who have defeated The Deadman in a WWE ring. The caption of the photo stated the following,

“A hilarious note to mark 25 years to the release of #KhiladiyonKaKhiladi tomorrow! A fun fact though: it was wrestler Brian Lee who played The Undertaker in the film.”

As seen in the video below, Kumar defeated The Undertaker in a fight during the climax of the movie. As noted by the movie hero, it was Brian Lee who portrayed the character of Taker, and not Mark Callaway who was behind the legendary WWE gimmick. Wrestler Lee also defeated former WWE Superstar Crush in another fight sequence in the movie Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi.

The Undertaker is currently retired from WWE

It should be noted that Brian Lee was the man to impersonate The Undertaker on WWE TV in the mid-1990s. He involved in a feud with Callaway which resulted in an interesting Taker vs. Taker match for the headliner of SummerSlam 1994. Callaway continued with his Hall of Fame WWE career while Lee never showed up in the promotion, ever again.

Flashback: The Undertaker Failed To Deliver A Mega Match In WWE, 2 Years Ago

2 years ago today, WWE booked a dream match for the professional wrestling fanatics – The Undertaker vs. Goldberg. It’s not mandatory that every match with such a huge magnitude will deliver to the fullest. Sadly for this one, the match wasn’t even close to the legacies set by the two superstars during their career. It appeared to be an overall catastrophe by all means.

WWE Super ShowDown 2019 pay-per-view featured The Undertaker vs. Goldberg for the first time ever in the main event, and it was a total failure. “The Phenome vs. The Icon” had several botches during the match which could have caused career-ending injuries for both the superstars. Goldberg was not in the condition of competing as the match had to be ended with stiff Chokeslam from his opponent.

People blamed their age for whatever happened inside the ring. But then again, they started the match, very well. All could have gone well if not Goldberg was knocked out by banging his head in the ring post. He was bleeding profusely and with that temperature in Saudi Arabia, it was just too much for him to carry on the match. The bottom line is that WWE just shouldn’t have booked this match in the year 2019.

Rumor Killer On WWE Up For Sale After Recent Activities

The Undertaker revealed he was this close to death at Super ShowDown

They previously had failed at Crown Jewel 2018 after booking The Undertaker and Kane vs. Triple H and Shawn Michaels. But they decided to book another such mega match involving two legendary superstars to experience, failure, again.

The Undertaker: The Last Ride documentary was released on the WWE Network Sunday, after Money In The Bank 2020 pay-per-view where the Phenome also revealed that he was this close to death after Goldberg botched a Jackhammer attempt. He literally dropped his opponent on his head. Even, ‘Taker did the same while delivering a Tombstone Piledriver which wasn’t safe, at all.

The Undertaker wanted to wipe out this bad memory, as early as possible as he returned to action in Extreme Rules 2019 by teaming up with Roman Reigns against the team of Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon. On that year’s Summerslam, Goldberg also appeared in action to squash Dolph Ziggler in a match to find back his mojo.

Among these dream matches that never happened is the Undertaker vs Sting. A match that fans are waiting to see for over two decades, but it did not happen. WWE had the chance to actually book this dream match when Sting made his debut in WWE. But they did not.

Sting

“I wanted that to happen,” said Sting. “I was very clear publicly, and I was very clear with WWE, as well. I wanted my last hurrah against Taker. For whatever reason, it just never materialized. To this day, I don’t know why. Maybe Taker never wanted to work with me. I have no idea.

I mean, I’ve had good conversations with Taker and we’ve always got along. I don’t know why the match never happened, but it should have happened. Because it wasn’t going to happen, and I knew it, and that wasn’t the only reason why I left WWE, but it’s one of the reasons why I left. I wanted that one last match.”

The Great Khali Looks Back At His Debut

The Great Khali is often regarded as the first ever Indian Wrestler to wrestle in WWE. But it is not true. The first ever Indian wrestler to wrestle in WWE was Tiger Jeet Singh. He was performed in the WWE in the 70s. He even wrestled Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF Championship (WWE championship) twice.

But this story is not about Tiger Jeet Singh, it is about the first Indian world champion in WWE The Great Khali. In 2007 he made history when he won a Battle Royal who win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the Battle Royale included the likes of Kane and Batista.

The Great Khali Looks Back At His Debut

The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2021 along with the likes of Molly Holly, Eric Bischoff, former WWE champion Rob Van Dam and former three times WWE World Champion Kane.

Recently, while speaking to Rewind Recap Relive The Great Khali revealed what the Boss Vince McMahon told him about his debut. He said;

“Vince said, ‘I want to debut you’ but he didn’t say who is my opponent. He gives me a call and says, ‘come to TV after WrestleMania.’ Same day, Michael Hayes said, ‘You have a big day. You need to go out during Mark Henry and fighting and you need to ‘Kill the The Undertaker.’ I was so happy. ‘He tried to explain and Vince said, ‘Yes! Kill him hard! Not easy.’ That moment was really great. All the world knew who was Great Khali. I want to thank Vince McMahon and WWE for making Great Khali. I appreciate Vince McMahon and WWE.”

Great Khali

Khali’s debut was one of the most shocking debuts of all time. It was the Smackdown after WrestleMania 22, Undertaker was having a rematch with his WrestleMania opponent of that year Mark Henry on the main event of the show. Suddenly, a huge man came out leaving everyone in that arena spellbound. The big man completely destroyed the Undertaker.

That big man was revealed to be The Great Khali who won the WWE World Heavyweight Champion the very next year. Khali’s victories over the likes of the Undertaker, Kane, John Cena were still considered huge. The man indeed was a big deal back then.

Great Khali

Using the likes of Khali and Jinder Mahal. WWE cashed pretty well in India. Speaking of Jinder Mahal, it looks like he is becoming even more famous in WWE with a WWE championship run already and with his return last week and a clean victory on Jeff Hardy, it seems like WWE is planning a high push for the Indian-Canadian wrestler again.

Jeff Jarrett Addresses Undertaker As ‘The Best In-Ring Businessman’

The double J Jeff Jarrett was one of the fortunate wrestlers who got the privilege to work with the Deadman The Undertaker. Almost all the wrestlers who work with the Undertaker could not seek out better words to praise him.

It has never been a secret that the Undertaker is one of the best workers in pro wrestling to work with both in the ring for outside of the ring. There are many Urban Legends in WWE and professional wrestling which portray the Undertaker as one of the best workers in professional wrestling history.

One of those being the Legend surrounding the main event match between Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin from WrestleMania 14. It is said that Shawn Michaels did not want to push Stone Cold Steve Austin and he could have messed it up.

Undertaker threatened the Heartbreak Kid if he would not deliver what he was supposed to, he would have to pay for it. It is also said that the phenomenon was standing just behind the entrance stage to make sure everything goes perfectly.

Jeff Jarrett

Former four time WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jeff jarrett on his recent appearance on Inside the Ropes talked about Undertaker’s contribution towards Pro wrestling. The double J said;

I believe he has an unparalleled career and, yes, he gets a lot of credit – I still don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for what he’s done for the industry. The amount of tickets he’s sold or pay-per-view buy-rates he’s sold, how many other pieces of talent that he has truly, quote unquote, ‘given the rub’ – whatever you want to call it, Mark may be the best in-ring businessman that the business has ever had and I sincerely mean that he. His business acumen, as far as not only taking care of his character, but others as well. I don’t think he has a peer, candidly.

How no one has had a run as he has:

When you talk specifically about Undertaker, who has had a long a run as him, basically uninterrupted? Nobody. Nobody. I mean, he came on the scene in 1990-1991, I guess was first year and through this year at the very top.”

It is almost impossible to replace Mark ‘The Undertaker’ Callaway in the world of professional wrestling. The example he set in this world is simply irreplaceable.
