The Chennai leg of the Pro Kabaddi League season 7 began on a disappointing note for the home
fans as Bengaluru Bulls humbled Tamil Thalaivas by a scoreline of 32-21 at the Jawaharlal Nehru
Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
The contest was always going to be about Bengaluru raiding prowess and Thalaivas resolute defence and Pawan Sehrawat storming early raids meant the former found themselves 5-0 up in
the opening four minutes of the match.

Thalaivas poor form in the Do-or-Die raids continued as they lost Ajay Thakur and Shabeer Bappu.
Bengaluru Bulls tackled the Thalaivas last man Manjeet Chillar to inflict the first All-Out of the game and silenced the home crowd as the scoreline read 10-0.

The Tamil Thalaivas tried to scratch their way back into the game as they tackled Pawan Sehrawat twice and Shabbir Bapu picked two points in a single raid. But, Bengaluru Bulls had their noses upfront as they went into the halftime break 17-10. Ajith Kumar managed to get out of the grasp of Sehrawat and a brilliant foothold from Ran Singh meant Bengaluru lead got narrowed down to just five as the teams resumed play. A failed Do-or-Die raid from Rohit Kumar, a back-kick from raiding Ajay Thakur, and a body grab from Mohit Chillar further reduced the deficit to 19-17.

Their hope of mounting a comeback, however, suffered a major letdown when Ankit raided two players in a single raid and Saurabh Nandal completed his High 5 to restore the seven-point lead.  Tamil Thalaivas succumbed to another All-Out as Pawan Sehrawat completed another Super 10. The home side did’nt show any signs of resurgence and happily surrendered to the loss.  With this win, Bengaluru Bulls moved to the second spot in the points table with 27 points from 8
matches. They take on a feeble Puneri Paltans side on Wednesday, who are withering at the bottom of the pile.

Visakhapatnam, Dec 12: In the southern derby, Bengaluru Bulls defeated hosts Telugu Titans 37-24 in a Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Clash here on Wednesday.

Pawan Sehrawat yet again delivered for the Bulls as he top-scored with 13 points. Mahender Singh put in a solid defensive performance and earned himself a high five.

Telugu Titans faded away after a bright start as their star raider Rahul Chaudhari could not get going and scored just 4 points. Nilesh Salunke top-scored for Titans with 6 points.

Telugu Titans remain in hunt for a place in the playoffs but their 3rd home defeat has made it an uphill task.

Telugu Titans made a strong start and led 5-1 after four minutes as their defence picked up three tackle points. It took a while for Bengaluru Bulls to get going as Pawan Sehrawat was tackled a couple of times.

After 10 minutes, Telugu Titans led 9-5 and were looking in control of the match.

But the Bengaluru Bulls fought back in the latter part of the first-half as Pawan Sehrawat picked up a few raid points. At the end of the first-half, Telugu Titans held a slender two-point lead with the score 12-10.

Bengaluru Bulls tied the match at 13-13 in the 22nd minute and then inflicted an all-out to take the lead for the first time in 23 minutes. Nilesh Salunke got a two-point raid in the 30th minute for the Telugu Titans as they trailed 18-12.

With less than five minutes to go, Telugu Titans trailed by just two points but Bengaluru Bulls thwarted all hopes of a comeback as they scored four points in two minutes to lead 28-22.

Pawan Sehrawat made a two-point raid in the 39th minute to ensure victory for Bengaluru Bulls as they led 30-22. Bulls inflicted an all-out in the second-last minute and ran out as comfortable winners in the end.

Puae, Nov 24: Riding on a terrific raiding performance by Rohit Kumar, Bengaluru Bulls beat Tamil Thalaivas 36-22 in a Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) match here on Saturday.

Kumar scored 11 raid points and got able support from Pawan Sehrawat, who scored 6 points.

Ajay Thakur top scored for Tamil Thalaivas with 6 points in what was an subdued performance by the team.

Bengaluru Bulls remain top of the table in Zone B whereas Tamil Thaliavas remain bottom of the table.

Bengaluru Bulls made a strong start to lead 5-1 after three minutes as Kashiling Adake and Pawan Sehrawat got in a couple of raid points.

In the 7th minute Rohit Kumar got another raid point to give Bengaluru Bulls 6-2.

Bengaluru Bulls inflicted an all out in the next minute to lead 10-3. Jasvir Singh got a couple of raid points for Tamil Thalaivas as they trailed 5-11 after nine minutes.

Tamil Thalaivas rallied back into the first half to get a couple of points on board as they ended first half strongly. Tamil Thalaivas went into the break trailing by five points.

Rohit Kumar was having a great game and made a two-point raid in the 25th minute to give Bengaluru Bulls 22-14 lead. Tamil Thalaivas forced a super tackle in the 28thminute as they trailed 18-24.

All hopes of a Tamil Thalaivas comeback were officially laid to rest when they suffered an all out in the 36thminute.

The all out meant that Bengaluru had opened upa 12-point unassailable lead. A couple of tackle and raid points in the last few minutes meant that Tamil Thalaivas had no answer to Bengaluru’s dominance.

Pune, Nov 23: In a close contest, Bengal Warriors held their nerves to edge out Bengaluru Bulls 33-31 in a Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) match here on Friday.

Bengal’s Maninder Singh had an excellent game and scored 14 points, while Mahesh Goud was a fine supporting act for Singh as he chipped in with 6 crucial raid points.

Pawan Sehrawat got yet another super 10 for Bengaluru Bulls but his effort went in vain. Bengaluru Bulls’ defence was the biggest reason for their downfall as they could muster just three tackle points in the match.

Rohit Kumar and Maninder Singh got a couple of raid poinst each for their teams as both teams were neck to neck after three minutes of play. Mahesh Goud’s raid in the fourth minute gave Bengal a chance to level it at 4-4.

In the 7th minute, Kashiling Adake made a successful raid to level the score at 6-6. There was little to separate the two teams as both refused to give an inch. Rohit made a two-point raid in the 13th minute to give Bengaluru Bulls little breathing space as they led 11-9.

Bengal fought back as they inflicted an all out in the 15th minute to lead 13-11. It was a closely fought encounter but Bengal went into the break holding a four point lead with the score reading 18-14 in their favour.

Maninder Singh continued his fine raiding form with a point at the start of the second half. He followed it up with a two-point raid in the 23rd minute as Bengal led 23-15.

Bengaluru fought back in the next few minutes as they cut the deficit to five points in the 29th minute.

Pawan came with a moment of brilliance as his two-point raid led to an all out and Bengaluru Bulls tied the match at 26-26 in the 33rd minute. In the next minute, Maninder responded with a super raid to give Bengal 29-26 lead.

The last five minutes were a tense affair but Bengal refused to panic. Kashiling got two raid points in the last couple of minutes of the match to keep Bengaluru within touching distance.

It was Maninder yet again, who scored a raid point in the 38th minute to give Bengal Warriors 33-28 lead as they were assured of full points in the match. Bengaluru picked three points in the dying moments but fell short narrowly to lose the contest.

PKL: Pawan guides Bengaluru to victory vs Jaipur

Ahmedabad, Nov 18: Pawan Sehrawat produced a terrific raiding performance as he led Bengaluru Bulls to 45-32 win over Jaipur Pink Panthers in Inter Zone Challenge Week of Pro Kabaddi League here on Sunday.

Sehrawat scored 19 points and two super raids by Rohit Kumar and Kashiling Adake laid the foundations for Bengaluru’s victory.

Jaipur Pink Panthers fizzled after a strong start with Deepak Niwas Hooda getting a super 10.

The first half saw both teams match each other stride for stride. There was little to choose from as in the 5th minute Deepak Niwas Hooda got a raid point to level it at 4-4.

The next couple of minutes saw Jaipur Pink Panthers put the pressure on Bengaluru Bulls as they opened a six-point gap. An all out was inflicted by Jaipur in the 9th minute as they led 11-5.

Bengaluru Bulls were jolted out of their stupor after the all out. Kashiling Adake made a brilliant super raid in the 13th minute as he scored four points to reduce the gap to just three points.

Bengaluru Bulls took the lead in the 16th minute as they inflicted an all out.

At the end of the first half, Bengaluru Bulls trailed 18-17.

The second half saw Bengaluru Bulls switch gears. First Rohit Kumar produced a super raid in the 22nd minute.

Pawan Sehrawat’s two-point raid in the 24th minute led to another all out on Jaipur Pink Panthers.

Anup Kumar was having a quiet match as in the first 30 minutes he scored just one point for Jaipur Pink Panthers.

Jaipur tried to make a comeback in the match but Pawan Sehrawat was having none of it.

Sehrawat got a super 10 in the 31st minute and followed it up a couple of more successful raids.

Jaipur’s fate was sealed when they suffered another all out in the 34th minute to trail 24-37.

Deepak Niwas Hooda did his best to get points for Jaipur and achieved a super 10. But it was a little too late as Pawan Sehrawat continued to plunder points to lead Bengaluru Bulls to a win.

PKL 6: U Mumba defeat Bengaluru Bulls 32-29

Mumbai, Nov 14: Host U Mumba continued with their brilliant run this season as they defeated Bengaluru Bulls 32-29 in an inter-zonal clash of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) at the NSCI stadium here on Wednesday.

The first-half saw the home side completely dominating their opponents as they outclassed Bengaluru in every department of the game however, the vsitors showed some terrific fightback in the later part of the game, which was too late.

Darshan Kadian, Surrender SIngh and Abofazl Maghsod collected nine and five-five points points respectively for the host while Bengaluru’s Pawan Sehrawat, Rahul Chaudhary and Kashiling Adake fetched eight, six and four points for their side.

Darshan and Abofazl picked one point each in their very first raid attempt as U Mumba started with a 2-0 lead before they tackled back Bengaluru’s Pawan and Kashling to move to four points.

Darshan continued to make successful raid attempts and picked a point again, which also left the visitors with just two men on the mat. It seems nothing was going in the visitor’s way as their raider Mahesh Maruti was also tackled by the host, deteriorating Bengaluru’s situation further.

Darshan raided again succesfully as U Mumba inflicted an All-Out to take a huge 9-0 lead. A dominant home side further extended their lead 12 points while their opponents were still looking to open their account by the 11th minute.

Skipper Rahul finally gave some respite to Bengaluru with a successful raid but it was too late as U Mumba had already taken a 11-point lead.

The host continued with their fantastic show in the later part of the first-half too as the scoreline read 17-6 in U Mumba’s favour at half-time.

Just in the initial moments of the second-half, the host inflicted another All-Out to take a massive 24-7 lead.

The visitors then collected few points in quick succession to reach 11 points while U Mumba could only manage one however, the score was still in the host’s favour with 25-11 by the 29th minute.

The visitors however showed a brilliant fightback as their consecutive succesful raid and tackling attempts lifted them to 20 points, while U Mumba could only pick one point by the 35th minute as the scoreline read 26-20.

Kashling’s super raid took Bengaluru to 24 points, cutting the deficit to just five points with three minutes left. Pawan then made a successful raid again for the visitors to make the scoreline read 29-25.

The home side then collected three points in back-to-back attempts to move to 32 points, seven more than their opponents’.

Bengaluru collected four points in the final moments of the contest. However, it wasn’t enough to stop U Mumba from registering their ninth win out of 12 games this season.

Bengaluru, Patna Play Draw In PKL

Pune, Oct 18 (IANS) Bengaluru Bulls and Patna Pirates played out a hard-fought 29-29 draw in a Vivo Pro Kabaddi (PKL) contest here on Wednesday.

Monu Goyat scored 11 points for Patna, whereas Rohit Kumar scored nine points for Bengaluru. It was an evenly contested affair with neither team refusing to give an inch.

Patna would be disappointed as Pardeep Narwal’s quiet second-half performance was one of the reasons why they couldn’t emerge victorious.

Bengaluru ended their PKL campaign with 57 points from 22 matches and finished fourth in Zone B.

Patna, who have already qualified for the super playoffs, have 71 points after 22 league matches and finished second in Zone B.

Bengaluru Beat UP Yoddha In PKL

Pune, Oct 15 (IANS) Bengaluru Bulls produced a measured performance to beat UP Yoddha 36-30 in a Vivo Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) match here on Sunday.

UP Yoddha, however, have already sealed their spot in the super playoffs.

Bengaluru’s Mahender Singh was superb in defence and scored 10 tackle points.

Rohit Kumar was in fine raiding form and scored 13 points to lead Bulls to a much-needed victory.

With Nitin Tomar missing, UP Yoddha were reliant on Rishank Devadiga who couldn’t deliver. Surender Singh scored 10 raid points for UP Yoddha but didn’t get enough support from his defence.

Bengaluru Bulls climbed off the bottom of the table in Zone B and are now fourth with 49 points from 20 matches. UP Yoddha are third with 60 points from 21 matches.

Vivo Pro Kabaddi League 2017: Bengaluru Bulls beat Dabang Delhi 35-32

In the clash of bottom-placed teams, it was Bengaluru Bulls who came out on top as they beat Dabang Delhi 35-32 in Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 5. Rohit Kumar (12 points) and Ajay Kumar (10 points) led Bengaluru Bulls charge as they combined to score 22 raid points. Rohit Balliyan scored 11 points but was let down by his team’s defence as they scored just six tackle points. This was Dabang Delhi’s 15th loss of the season as their dismal campaign continued.

Dabang Delhi are bottom of the table in Zone A with 37 points from 21 matches. Bengaluru Bulls are fifth in Zone B with 44 points from 19 matches. Dabang Delhi have no hope of making it to the playoffs but Bengaluru Bulls still retain a chance.

Ajay Kumar got Bengaluru Bulls a 3-1 lead after three minutes as he scored two raid points. Dabang Delhi scored four points in the next few minutes to take 5-3 lead. Ajay Kumar scored with a two-point raid in the ninth minute as Bengaluru Bulls leveled the match at 6-6.

Rohit Balliyan and R Sriram did the bulk of raiding for Dabang Delhi and made it 8-6 in the 10th minute. In the next 10 minutes, Bengaluru Bulls dominated the proceedings. They inflicted an all out in the 17th minute to lead 12-9. Bengaluru Bulls led 17-9 at the end of the first half with Rohit Kumar and Ajay Kumar combining to score 11 raid points.

Rohit Balliyan scored with a super raid in the 24th minute as Dabang Delhi trailed 14-20. Bengaluru Bulls scored four points in five minutes as Bengaluru Bulls led 24-15 in the 30th minute. Rohit Kumar achieved a super 10 in the 33rdm minute as Bengaluru Bulls led 28-21.

Dabang Delhi inflicted an all out in the 36th minute as they trailed 27-30. Rohit Kumar thwarted any hopes of a Delhi comeback in the next minute as he came up with a two-point raid to give Bengaluru Bulls 32-27 lead. Ravinder Pahal achieved a high 5 for Bengalur Bulls in the 39th minute as Bengaluru Bulls 34-28. Dabang Delhi scored four points in the last minute but just fell short as they lost 32-35.

Bulls Beat Thalaivas In PKL

Chennai, Oct 5 (IANS) Bengaluru Bulls beat Tamil Thalaivas 45-35 in a Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) match here on Thursday.

Rohit Kumar led the charge for Bulls and scored 17 points. It was yet another disappointing game for the Thalaivas as they crashed to their 13th defeat of the season.

Ajay Thakur scored 15 raid points for Tamil Thalaivas but was unable to inspire his team. It was the Bulls’ defence that proved to be the difference as both teams scored equal amount of raid points.

Bengaluru Bulls overtook Tamil Thalaivas in Zone B and are now are fifth with 39 points from 19 matches. Tamil Thalaivas are bottom of the table with 35 points from 19 matches.

Rohit Kumar scored two raid points in two minutes to give Bengaluru Bulls 3-1 lead. Ajay Thakur scored a raid in the third minute as Tamil Thalaivas trailed 2-3.

In the first six minutes, neither team got a tackle point with Bengaluru Bulls leading 7-4. Both teams got their first tackle point in the ninth minute as Bengaluru Bulls led 8-6.

Rohit Kumar scored with a two-point raid in the 13th minute give Bengaluru Bulls 12-7 lead. Tamil Thalaivas forced a super tackle in the next minute to cut the lead to just three points. Bengaluru Bulls inflicted an all out in the 18th minute as they went into half time leading 19-10.

Bengaluru Bulls began the second half emphatically as they inflicted an all out in the 23rd minute to lead 27-10. In the next few minutes, Bengaluru Bulls piled more misery on Thalaivas to lead 32-13 in the 27th minute.

In the first nine minutes of the second half, Bulls scored 18 points compared to Thalaivas’ six. Ajay Thakur then sprung into action and scored four raid points in two minutes as Tamil Thalaivas trailed 21-38 in the 32nd minute.

Ajay Thakur scored another raid point in the 35th minute as Thalaivas inflicted an all out to trail 27-41. Bengaluru Bulls forced a super tackle in the 38th minute as they led 44-32.

Tamil Thalaivas left it too little too late and despite Thakur’s late heroics crashed to a 45-35 defeat.
