Two times WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair who is also a former sixteen times World champion recently talked about the WWE SmackDown women’s championship match between Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch at SummerSlam. He gave his opinion on the defeat of the EST of Smackdown.

Bianca Belair was scheduled to face Sasha Banks to defend the WWE SmackDown women’s Championship at SummerSlam. But Sasha Banks was not fit for the match, therefore the match was called off. Instead, it was Carmella who was given the opportunity to challenge Belair for the title.

Becky Lynch in the meantime made a surprise return and took out Carmella to challenge for the WWE SmackDown women’s Championship. Belair accepted the challenge and to shock the entire Arena, Belair was defeated by Becky in only twenty seconds time. This booking decision was vastly criticised by the world of professional wrestling and critics.

It seemed like Belair would be buried after this incident. But fortunately that did not happen. WWE did not give up on the push of her. She is currently the number one contender for the WWE SmackDown women’s Championship and Becky Lynch will defend her title against Belair at the next WWE pay-per-view event which is Extreme Rules.

“I actually was hoping that someday, I thought it could be Bianca and Charlotte could really be huge one day. Obviously, the two best athletes in the women’s division. I mean, both Division I athletes, legitimately.

“And that’s a whole different way of telling a story, building up to an event, you know what I mean. Plus, the fact that they can do some stuff that nobody else can.”

Spoiler: AEW Planning To Sign WWE Hall Of Famer In A Big Way 1

Spoilers for this week’s taped edition of AEW Rampage are out which suggested Andrade El Idolo defeated Pac (fka Neville in WWE) in a singles contest. After the match, Andrade turned on his manager, Chavo Guerrero, and fired him from his current position.

Apparently, this was done to bring in The Nature Boy in his corner. According to the reports of Wrestling Observer, Ric Flair is now expected to become Andrade’s new manager,

“He got rid of Chavo, and since he’s only been there for a couple of weeks, that makes me feel that if they’re gonna replace him they’re gonna replace him with The Nature Boy, which I’m sure, if [Andrade] has Flair in his corner and he’s motivated to wrestle then he’s gonna be a big freakin’ star.” (transcription by Ringside News)

Spoiler: AEW Planning To Sign WWE Hall Of Famer In A Big Way 2

This comes after Andrade El Idolo challenged Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Championship match at TripleMania with Ric Flair accompanying him to the ring. While Andrade was unsuccessful in capturing the belt, Flair did show that he still got something left to do inside the ring as he applied the Figure Four Leglock, that night.

It should be noted that Andrade El Idolo and Charlotte Flair are a couple and Ric Flair loves him as his future son-in-law. So he would love to work by his side and make him a future bright star in AEW. That being said, AEW is likely to have a bright future with veteran stars like Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Adam Cole joining the brand.

She returned in the ring just after the night of WrestleMania 37 and since returning to WWE she is constantly on the main event title picture just like she has always been. Her feud with Rhea Ripley kept on going since the week after WrestleMania and it is still going on.

During this time, she got her 11th women’s Championship reign which lasted for only one day and it was not much necessary either. Majority of fans and critics criticized away for giving her such an unnecessary title reign. Right now she is still involved in the title picture and at SummerSlam she is going to meet WWE Raw Women’s champion Nikki ASH and the former champion Rhea Ripley in a triple threat match.

“Spending on that money on clothes, that’s called image enhancement, something [Lex] Luger taught me a long time ago. And her in-ring work, it’s unbelievable. She’ll show that again at SummerSlam.

“She refuses to allow herself to be second to anyone, and she keeps getting better. She’s better than she was last month, and better than she was last year. This is her prime right now, and she’ll show she’s the best in the world in her match.”

WWE Legend Ric Flair Denies Being In Viral Scandalous Photo

Ric Flair lived up to his old-school gimmick, earlier this year when he was involved in a romantic storyline with WWE Superstar Lacey Evans. There was a point when many thought he was the one to make the Lady of the WWE, pregnant. Moving on from that controversial angle, he went on to trend on social media for another such reason.

The legendary wrestler trended on Twitter after fans started mentioning him in tweets after a non-PG photo went viral on the platform. A photo of a man, who looked very similar to Ric Flair from behind was seen performing ‘oral sex’ on a woman in that picture. Fans believed that it was the wrestler, mostly due to the similarity with his hair. While the veteran was never identified, several Twitter users have noted that it looks like the photo was taken on the Long Island Rail Road in New York.

However, there’s no truth to the link-ups associating with him. Ric Flair took to Twitter to turn down this rumor by tweeting the following:

“This Picture Is As Real As That Other One Floating Around. The Nature Boy Doesn’t Ride Trains! WOOOOO WOOOOO!”

Despite the clarification given by him, the 16-time world champion keeps on trending on Twitter as several memes have been created on him.

Ric Flair is no more with the WWE

As reported earlier, Ric Flair has parted ways with the WWE after Vince McMahon granted his wish to be released from the contract. He then appeared in the corner of Andrade El Idolo for his match against AAA Mega Champion Kenny Omega at AAA TripleMania XXIX, this past Friday night.

Wrestling INC then reported that they have learned that Ric Flair made that appearance free of cost. He also chartered a private jet to make it to the show, at his own expense. The source was also the first to report that Flair requested, and was then granted his WWE release, earlier this month. There’s not any non-compete agreement between the two parties and hence he is free to appear in any other promotions immediately.

That being said, Ric Flair could soon show up at AEW programming where Andrade is under contract following his WWE release. Andrade’s fiancée and Ric’s daughter Charlotte Flair can’t make any appearance in WWE rival brands for obvious reasons.

WWE Legend Ric Flair And Charlotte Flair Attend AAA TripleMania

Ric Flair is done with the WWE, as reported earlier and unlike other released talents, the veteran doesn’t have to serve a no-compete clause for 90 days. Hence, he was able to make an appearance at another wrestling promotion as quickly as possible. He went physical and helped her would-be son-in-law Andrade in his scheduled match.

AAA Triplemania XXIX took place this past weekend at the Arena Ciudad de México in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico. The same event witnessed a title change where Deonna Purrazzo won the Reina de Reinas Championship from Faby Apache. In the co-main event of the night, the AAA Megacampeonato Title was on the line between champion Kenny Omega and Andrade.

Before heading into the match, Andrade had an argument with Konnan, backstage. Andrade mentioned that he no longer wanted Konnan in his corner because someone more suitable for the job was hired. Konnan then went into Omega’s dressing room and made an entrance accompanying Omega. Andrade, on the other hand, appeared accompanied by Ric Flair.

Charlotte Flair also attended AAA event with Ric Flair

The Nature Boy went physical during the match as he would deliver some of his signature chops to Omega before putting him down with a roundhouse punch. Ric Flair then applied the Figure Four onto Konnan, as Andrade did the same to Omega. Omega, however, managed to retain his championship by planting Andrade with the One-Winged Angel.

Charlotte Flair was also present, backstage at last night’s AAA TripleMania to watch Ric Flair being in the corner of Andrade El Idolo. It was Konnan who posted a photo to confirm that The Queen was indeed at the event.

WWE Legend Ric Flair And Charlotte Flair Attend AAA TripleMania 38

Per the updates from Wrestling Observer Radio, the rumor was that Charlotte Flair went to Mexico City, but she couldn’t make an appearance at AAA TripleMania since that would cause a contract violation with WWE. This could be the reason why Charlotte Flair missed last night’s WWE Supershow in her own hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina where WWE RAW Women’s Champion Nikki Cross A.S.H. defeated Rhea Ripley to retain her title.

As noted above, Ric Flair recently made his exit from WWE, and afterward, it was reported that he had issues with the company, from a creative perspective. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio further reported that the legendary wrestler is expected to join AEW when he’s legally able to do so.

Ric Flair Released By WWE Upon Request To Vince McMahon 56

Ric Flair isn’t the only talent to be released around this week as Bray Wyatt made headlines with his release. According to PWInsider ring announcer, JoJo Offerman was quietly released from WWE 6-8 months ago. JoJo is Bray Wyatt’s girlfriend and they have two kids together. WWE has quietly released Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett earlier this year as well who was working as a backstage producer.

The report by Fightful Select added that Ric Flair reportedly grew frustrated with the WWE with certain booking decisions on WWE TV. He directly contacted McMahon to voice his issues and also asked Vince for his release. It seemed that the WWE Chairman had no issues whatsoever to grant him a release, thereafter.

Ric Flair was uncomfortable doing Lacey Evans angle

Ric Flair was very much outspoken about his disagreement with the Lacey Evans romantic storyline. He spoke with Ariel Helwani back in May and admitted he was uncomfortable with the storyline. But then ultimately he ended up doing it since Vince convinced him that it would get Evans over in the program with Charlotte Flair.

“In this instance, I didn’t [feel comfortable],” Ric Flair admitted. “The one thing I’ve learned is you’re not going to win a war when someone’s got their mind made up. She most definitely didn’t like it, but the one thing that I can say about me is I always said yes. I didn’t want to be that guy that was always going ‘Oh, that isn’t perfect for me.’”

Ric Flair Released By WWE Upon Request To Vince McMahon 57

Despite the efforts by The Nature Boy and the planning of WWE to make her the champion, the storyline didn’t pay off as Lacey Evans found out that she was pregnant in the month of February. Ric Flair stopped making appearances, thereafter as Lacey had to be sidelined from Raw TV.
