Teams
The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is the world’s biggest professional Kabaddi league for men. Organized in India, PKL got underway in 2014 with eight teams.
Jaipur Pink Panthers won the first edition of the PKL by beating U Mumba in the final. At present 12 teams participate in the league. The format of the competition follows a round-robin format, where each team plays against every other team twice during the league phase. At the end of the league stage, the top six teams qualify for the playoffs.
PKL Teams:
While the tournament started with eight teams in 2014, the organizers were quick to expand the league following the impressive start. For the 2017 and 2018–19 season, four new teams were added to the competition. At present, 12 teams are participating in PKL.

- Bengaluru Bulls
- Bengal Warriorz
- Dabang Delhi K.C.
- Puneri Paltan
- Haryana Steelers
- UP Yoddhas
- Tamil Thalaivas

- Gujarat Giants
Out of the 12 teams, Patna Pirates, Jaipur Pink Panthers, U Mumba, Bengaluru Bulls, Bengal Warriorz, Dabang Delhi K.C, Puneri Paltan and Telugu Titans are playing from the inaugural season. On the other hand, UP Yoddhas, Tamil Thalaivas, Haryana Steelers and Gujarat Giants were added to the league in 2017.
Patna Pirates are the most successful team in the history of the competition with three titles. They are also the only to defend their PKL title. The only other team to win the competition more than once are Jaipur Pink Panthers who have won it twice. The other teams to win the tournament are U Mumba, Bengaluru Bulls, Bengal Warriorz, Dabang Delhi K.C., Puneri Paltan and Haryana Steelers.
