Serena Deeb Discusses Her Friendship With CM Punk
In 2010 she got her big break when WWE gave her a main roster contract. She became a member of the Straight Edge Society of CM Punk upon her debut on the main roster. But her run could not be continued for long as she was released by WWE soon after her main roster debut as it was said that she was not leaving her straight edge personna outside of WWE, and that was the reason behind her release.
After she was released by WWE on the same year of her main roster debut she managed to find success elsewhere. She made a return to WWE 2017 as a participant of The Mae Young Classic tournament. After that WWE approached her to give her a coaching role.
Serena Deeb who is also a former NWA World Women’s Champion recently participated in a virtual signing with East Coast Autograph Auctions where she talked about her friendship with former six times WWE World Champion CM Punk. Here is what she had to say;
“She mentioned how helpful he was to her throughout her career and how happy she was to see him when he made his return to wrestling last August. It wouldn’t be the Straight Edge Society [if CM Punk and I teamed up again]. That’s — we’ve evolved, we’ve all evolved past that but, I’d love to team with Punk again to be honest with you so.
“I was really happy to see him [when he first showed up in AEW]. Yeah, really happy to see him. It had been a long time, and I think he is very important to this locker room in so many ways. He’s always helped me out.
“You know, he helped me with SHIMMER, he helped me with Ring of Honor and then obviously Straight Edge Society and so, he’s one of the great minds of our business, and we’re lucky to have him.”
