Serena Deeb was currently signed with the All Elite Wrestling and she has been doing fantastic in the promotion. She started her professional wrestling career back in 2005. She first worked in the Florida Championship Wrestling which was the development Territory of WWE back then.

In 2010 she got her big break when WWE gave her a main roster contract. She became a member of the Straight Edge Society of CM Punk upon her debut on the main roster. But her run could not be continued for long as she was released by WWE soon after her main roster debut as it was said that she was not leaving her straight edge personna outside of WWE, and that was the reason behind her release.

After she was released by WWE on the same year of her main roster debut she managed to find success elsewhere. She made a return to WWE 2017 as a participant of The Mae Young Classic tournament. After that WWE approached her to give her a coaching role.

Serena Deeb who is also a former NWA World Women’s Champion recently participated in a virtual signing with East Coast Autograph Auctions where she talked about her friendship with former six times WWE World Champion CM Punk. Here is what she had to say;

“She mentioned how helpful he was to her throughout her career and how happy she was to see him when he made his return to wrestling last August. It wouldn’t be the Straight Edge Society [if CM Punk and I teamed up again]. That’s — we’ve evolved, we’ve all evolved past that but, I’d love to team with Punk again to be honest with you so.

“I was really happy to see him [when he first showed up in AEW]. Yeah, really happy to see him. It had been a long time, and I think he is very important to this locker room in so many ways. He’s always helped me out.

“You know, he helped me with SHIMMER, he helped me with Ring of Honor and then obviously Straight Edge Society and so, he’s one of the great minds of our business, and we’re lucky to have him.”

CM Punk Discusses Possibility On Reuniting With Ex WWE Diva AJ Lee

CM Punk had a solid WWE run which included several world title reigns. He had a 434-day reign as the WWE Champion that stands as the sixth-longest in title history and at one point, he also became the longest-reigning WWE Champion of the modern era until AJ Styles broke that record. After the departure from WWE in 2014, the animosity between both parties kept on growing.

WWE still holds some grudges towards CM Punk despite the fact that it’s been seven years since CM Punk’s release. WWE recently wrote the likelihood of released WWE stars who will be appearing in the upcoming WWE 2K22 video game. On that same page, it was mentioned how the former Straight Edge Leader will never be featured in a WWE video game again.

The feelings are said to be mutual as CM Punk doesn’t want to be connected with the WWE in any way. He’s currently with the AEW brand who also picked debuting as the best moment of his career.

CM Punk is having a great time in AEW

During an appearance with ESPN’s SportsNation, AEW star CM Punk talked about his debut this past August at AEW Rampage: The First Dance in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The WWE Superstar now firmly believes that it is the best moment of his illustrious career.

“I definitely think it’s the number one moment of my career,” CM Punk said. “I’ve been fortunate, I‘ve done a lot of cool things, won titles, sold out buildings, wrestled a lot of big names. But to come back after seven years and have that be the response? It shows you that I think that I left my fingerprints all over the industry.

Recently fellow AEW superstars and real-life couple, Adam Cole and Britt Baker revealed that their dream tag team match would be taking on CM Punk and his wife, former wrestler AJ Lee. Speaking in the ESPN conversation, Punk didn’t dismiss the possibility of seeing that match. But AJ isn’t returning, anytime, soon since there are projects she is currently working on.

“That one I can’t promise you,” CM Punk said. “She’s doing her own thing. To be completely honest, I know her. And if I said ‘hey, do you want to do this wrestling match?’ and she was all gung ho to do it, I know she would want to get into stupid shape to do it. And I like her fit. I don’t want to take that away from myself.”

In 2006 he came to the main roster after working one year on the Ohio Valley Wrestling. At first he was treated as a lower mid card wrestler on the newly resurrected ECW brand.

But he was extremely famous among the WWE fans and that was the biggest reason why the WWE could not resist themselves from building him as a top star. He held the record of winning two back to back Money in the Bank ladder matches.

In 2009 he turned heel for the first time in his WWE career and the fans witnessed how good he was in any role given to him. Soon he got the nickname Best in the World. He was the only competition of John Cena back in the time.

He was also one of the longest reigning WWE champion in the history of this business. But in 2014 he decided to leave the WWE forever. He remained out of the world of professional wrestling for over 7 years before joining AEW recently this year.

CM Punk who currently works in the All Elite Wrestling promotion recently spoke to ESPN’s SportsNation where he said that he always had his grip on the pulse of professional wrestling. He said;

“Very selfishly, it’s what I wanted to do. You take seven years off from something you’re pretty decent at, and kind of have pride in yourself on having your finger on the pulse of everything.

“I think there’s an undercurrent and there’s a lot of young professional wrestlers out there that are probably better than a lot of people give them credit for. And they don’t have the spotlight. They don’t have anybody that’s saying ‘hey, look at this guy.’ Or they do, but just not on a national level.”

“Everything is entertainment. I think some people conflate being a fighter with being an entertainer. When it makes dollars, it makes sense. What the Paul brothers are doing, for the lack of a better term, it’s old school pro wrestling.

“You can say they are crossing over, but there are so many similarities between the two businesses. They command attention. People want to see them get knocked out and they know this, but they are putting themselves out there and putting themselves on the line.

“I’ll never criticize in a negative way anybody who makes the walk, anybody who trains their ass off because I did it and I know what it takes. You put yourself out there and on the line. A lot of the times, a lot of the sacrifice goes unnoticed, but it’s what it is.”

Next week on AEW Dynamite, the promotion is expected to present another episode filled with high-octane action. A legendary wrestler and a WWE Hall of Famer will be one of the headliners of the night. It’s Sting who will compete in his next match on AEW programming.

MJF won the match by forcing Dante Martin to tap out to the Salt Of The Earth submission hold. Martin approached close to victory after hitting his double springboard moonsault. But then Martin went for the pin but Ricky Starks appeared at ringside and put MJF’s foot on the bottom rope. Martin was briefly distracted with this as MJF took advantage to get the win.

MJF won the AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring for the first time in November 2019 when he defeated Hangman Page. His second victory came in December 2020 when he beat Orange Cassidy.

Triple H Was Bigger Star Than CM Punk Before Marrying Stephanie McMahon, Says WWE Hall Of Famer

The animosity between Triple H and CM Punk is well-known amongst all of the professional wrestling fans. During their WWE tenure, these two used to share some legit beef that eventually led to the departure of Punk from the WWE. Despite all the speculations in the past, he never found his way back to the company, ever again.

Now Punk is a regular attendee of AEW Programming as a top superstar who gave the pro-wrestling fans to talk about his relationship with WWE during a promo segment in a recent episode of AEW Dynamite. “The only way you’ll be number one is if Tony Khan has a daughter and you marry her,” Punk said in that promo, referencing Triple H marrying Stephanie McMahon.

Prior to that, MJF also mentioned that Punk was always second best to “you can’t see me man” or the “king of kings” referring to John Cena and Triple H, respectively. Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T wasn’t a fan of the words selected by Punk, pointing out that The Game indeed was “a bigger star than CM Punk” even before he married the daughter of WWE Chairman and CEO, Vince McMahon.

Booker T supported Triple H over CM Punk comments

“It ticks me off a little bit, I’ve worked with Hunter since WCW. Hunter was a bigger star than CM Punk was before he even married Stephanie McMahon and that’s just fact,” Booker T stated on his Hall of Fame podcast. “As far as becoming a bigger star after that, of course, he was going to become a bigger star after that (marrying Stephanie), he was in the family now. Look here, if CM Punk would’ve married Stephanie McMahon, he would’ve become a bigger star, perhaps.”

Booker T also pointed out that CM Punk was a huge star in the WWE whom the company didn’t utilize the right way for some reason. But then again it wasn’t right for Punk to drag the personal life of the Triple H. The Texas-resident was open to saying that the Straight Edge Leader was just trying to “get a cheap pop” at the expense of the WWE head-honcho.

“I’ve always been willing to say to someone’s face what I wanted to get off my chest,” Booker stressed. “I’ve never wanted to go and hide somewhere and get a cheap pop talking about someone, especially someone I respect, who has done it the way we all have – entertaining fans in America and abroad, blood, sweat and tears. He (Triple H) is one of those guys who is one of the pillars of WWE, always will be.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)

Booker T Thinks CM Punk Beating Derby Allin Is Not A Good Idea

Professional wrestling legend and two times WWE Hall of Famer Booker T who is a former five times WCW World Heavyweight Champion and a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion recently talked about the match between CM Punk and Derby Allin from AEW All Out. Booker T said that he was not a fan of Punk beating Allin.

“There’s a lot of hypocrites in the world out there because if it was a character in WWE doing the same thing that CM Punk has done since coming into AEW — like Punk said the first person he called out is Darby Allin, ‘And I beat him.’ Why? Tell me why.

“Why did you beat Darby Allin when Darby Allin is considered one of those guys, pillars of that company? Why beat him? I’m just trying to figure it out, and if that same thing would’ve happened vice versa it would be talked about from a negative perspective.

“So, don’t be so hypocritical when you see stuff like that happen because me personally, I do not think Darby Allin should’ve got beat. Reason why, there was no reason for Darby Allin to get beat. [Punk] could’ve beat all of these guys that he’s beaten after Darby Allin and we would’ve still had the same thing that we have right now and Darby Allin would still be — what has Darby Allin done since CM Punk?”

Bryan Danielson On A Potential Feud With CM Punk

Former WWE star and a former five times WWE World Champion Daniel Bryan who is currently working by his previous name Bryan Danielson recently talked about a potential dream feud with the Best in the World CM Punk.

Bryan Danielson had been one of the biggest names in WWE and he was a top babyface of the promotion. Nobody expected WWE would let him go so easily. A lot of professional wrestling legends, critics and fans criticized WWE for letting Bryan go since he was the top babyface of the promotion. And if WWE is lacking in something that is building a top babyface for the promotion.

After Bryan left WWE is struggling badly to build a concrete babyface for either of their main roster shows. For both shows they had to bring back part time wrestlers so that they could feature as the babyface number one contender for both world championships. Right now they are trying to build new faces, but it does not seem like they would be able to build someone like Bryan so easily.

Bryan made his AEW debut at the recent AEW pay per view event which was All Out. It was one star-studded show. There were more debuts of former WWE stars like Adam Cole and Ruby Riott aka Ruby Soho. Bryan recently did a feud for the AEW World title against Kenny Omega.

Bryan who is currently working by his previous name Bryan Danielson recently spoke on Casual Conversations podcast where he talked about a potential dream feud with the Best in the World CM Punk. He said;

“Yeah I mean, I think both of those are really exciting to me. You also mentioned 2 teams that I would love to do a serious program with not just a one-off thing. Who better to team with than Punk, although you know I always thought and said this even when I was in WWE, it felt to me like Punk and I were destined to do a Wrestlemania match together and then it never happened.

Bryan Danielson

“It felt like man it’s so perfect and it makes so much sense that we would have this Wrestlemania match against each other and it never happened.

“But now given the time of how long it’s been since we’ve been in a ring against each other or even as a tag-team, like now I feel like when we do it, it’ll be big and big in a different way. That’s something I look forward to, I also like the idea of us battling each other over who the real best in the world is, I think that sounds like a lot of fun.”
