Renee Paquette Believes Big E Can Be The Face Of WWE

Former non wrestling backstage personnel Renee Young who is currently going by the name of Renee Paquette recently talked about the current WWE Champion Big E. She thought E had the potential to be the face of WWE.

Big E won the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match at the money in the bank pay per view event recently. He was a Smackdown star where he was going really strong and since winning the contract he was unbeaten at Friday Night Smackdown. WWE was trying really hard to build him as a potential face of the promotion.

He kept on teasing cashing in his contract in SmackDown and they tried to keep things surprising. He kept on saying that he could cash in on any champion. He even teased cashing in his contract on the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. But it was quite clear that he would not be cashing in on Roman Reigns since there was no space for him.

Finally, he cashed in his contract on Monday Night RAW. The former champion Bobby Lashley defeated Randy Orton to retain his Championship. After the match, Big E came out and challenged for the Championship. He defeated Lashley and won his first WWE Championship. Even though the whole booking process was criticized badly.

Renee Young who is currently going by the name of Renee Paquette recently spoke to Busted Open Radio where she said that she thought E had the potential to be the face of WWE. She said;

“I do think that he could. If he is given the creative liberties that he deserves and that he needs to continue being the Big E that everybody knows and loves, absolutely I think that he could for sure he can be that guy.

“I think like anybody else, you kind of worry about what is going to happen? Are they going to drop the ball on this? Where’s it going to go? I do think that he has all the tools.

“If you look at him from an athletic standpoint, you look at it from an entertainment standpoint, just him as a human being, the things that he stands for, the things that he talks about, I do think that he could really be that guy to put the company on the back of.”

Renee Young AEW Bound After Completion Of Her WWE No-Compete Clause?

WWE used to possess an asset in Renee Young in their programming in terms of broadcast. Over the years, this face has become a familiar and extremely popular one which led them to include her to be on the Raw commentary booth as a permanent member. Now that face is no longer available since last year’s summer.

Once the FOX show on FS1 named WWE Backstage was canceled due to the COVID-19 crisis, Renee Young decided not to renew her contract with the company. Thereby, she opted to end the association with WWE that lasted for almost eight years. To be precise, Summerslam 2020 marked her last WWE TV appearance although by then, her departure from the company was already announced.

But WWE assured that Renee Young couldn’t jump ship to any other rival brand following that exit by attaching a lengthy no-compete attached to her. Previously, she mentioned the same in interviews. Now the Canadian journalist appeared on The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast to reveal that the no-compete clause is over meaning she’s free to join any other wrestling promotion if she wants to.

“I think I’m free and clear,” The star having real-name, Renee Paquette revealed. “I can be at Bloodsport. I’m gonna be at Bloodsport. Everyone better buckle up and hold on to their asses. I’ll fight anyone, except for Miesha. I won’t fight Miesha.”

Renee Young commented on joining AEW

As reported a few days earlier, Renee Young is launching a new podcast with UFC Fighter Miesha Tate while she is also busy doing her own Oral Sessions Podcast. Not to mention, she is also involved in her cookbook projects for quite a while. Alongside these, rumors are always there of her possibly joining the AEW promotion given that her husband Jon Moxley is a mainstay name, there.

“I’m definitely open to the idea,” Renee Young responded to the speculations of her joining AEW. “I miss pro wrestling, I miss being involved in the pro wrestling world, in that capacity, but I don’t know what that job would be or what my role could be within AEW. We could probably rattle off a couple different ideas of things to do, and as AEW is growing, as their broadcasts are growing, as they’re adding on new shows, I think there’s definitely a role.”

While Renee Young intends to keep her connection intact with the wrestling fraternity, she’s been interested in projects which “bridge the gap” between wrestling and her other creative interests. It obviously includes television opportunities to Messy In The Kitchen: My Guide to Eating Deliciously, Hosting Fabulously, and Sipping Copiously, her cookbook published in May. Even if she joins AEW someday, she is not interested in doing commentaries, anymore.

Ex WWE Star Renee Young Gets To Host New Show With UFC Fighter

Renee Young left the WWE, last year with the will of working on her own projects to move away from the only show-hosting gig. She then started with her Oral Sessions podcast which was met with a lot of praise. Then she has also dropped a cookbook that she was talking about doing for years. With WWE in the history books, she finally got the opportunity to release that book.

Renee Young might still be waiting to be part of a Hallmark Christmas movie but she continues to manage to grab new gigs. She will soon host a new podcast with UFC fighter Miesha Tate. Sirius XM announced that “Throwing Down with Renee and Miesha” will air each Monday from 2-5 pm ET on Sirius XM Fight Nation, channel 156. The show will premiere next Monday, September 13.

The former WWE show-host tweeted on this new gig as she expressed her excitement to be working with the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

Tate then revealed on Twitter that the project has been in the works for months. She tweeted, “This launch has been in the work for months and I’m so excited to announce it!! @ReneePaquette.” It was noted by Renee Young that this new project will not hamper the usual Oral Sessions Podcast hosting by her.

Renee Young’s podcast helped her to move on from WWE

As seen during her WWE career, Renee Young loved to be as busy as a bee. After quitting the company, there much has been some emptiness to her career space. But the vehicle to get over it was that “Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette” podcast. Since launching it last November the Canadian hosted some of the biggest names of pro wrestling. Thus, she got a platform to get her voice back.

“A bunch of people think, ‘You’re the interviewer from WWE when I was playing an interviewer. I’m given the lines, and we have scripts we are following,” she said. “So as much as I’m asking people questions, they are not my own questions and are not my own follow ups. It just doesn’t work like that. To be able to work like this long format and have [guests] on for an hour and have a real conversation with them and hone in on my skills as an interviewer and just my genuine interest in people.”

Ex WWE Star Deonna Purrazzo On NXT Stint, “I Was Doing Wrong”

Deonna Purrazzo was released from WWE NXT on April 15th of last year who went on to achieve lots of success in the coming days. She was quick to arrive at Impact Wrestling promotion around 60 days because she only had a 30-day no-compete clause associated with her release (unlike the main roster releases, NXT superstars only have 30-day no-compete clauses).

Deonna Purrazzo started to work with Impact Wrestling and became their Knockouts Champion even before signing up for the company in a bound deal. The two-time Knockouts Champion is also the Women’s Champion from AAA promotion who was also announced the wrestler of the year by Impact in 2020. Now, that’s how someone would like to make an impact once WWE would fire them.

The Virtuosa didn’t receive much of an opportunity while being on NXT television. This was a frustrating part of her career that went on for a couple of years. She signed with WWE to become a star on television but she wasn’t and this appeared to be the biggest problem for her.

While speaking to Oral Sessions hosted by Renee Paquette (fka Renee Young in WWE), Deonna Purrazzo detailed some of her complaints about WWE’s developmental system. She was given suggestions about to do differently, but the authorities never informed her what to do so that she could shine on television.

Deonna Purrazzo was frustrated with his WWE NXT career

“That’s the vibe that I got that I was doing wrong … And I wasn’t necessarily getting a lot of feedback of like ‘this is what you can do better.’ Otherwise it was ‘this is good, maybe you could’ve done something different here. Or something there, or we need to play with your music and your entrance,’” Deonna Purrazzo continued.

“But wrestling-wise, no one was really telling me anything different. And that was my biggest complaint. So I’d go to Matt Bloom and be like ‘okay I came here to be a TV star. And I’m not. So if you’re not going to tell me what I need to do to be a TV star, what am I doing here?’ In hindsight, maybe I did that too soon.”

Ultimately Deonna Purrazzo felt like that she was in a situation where no one had her back, no matter how hard she worked. She also remembered having several arguments over her situation with Performance Center head trainer Matt Bloom. At a point, the duo ended up yelling at each other, a situation that no PC trainee would like to be a part of. Things ended well for her as she was released and was able to establish herself as one of the most dominating female wrestlers of this generation.

Renee Young Reveals WWE Obligations Barring Her From Future Ventures

Renee Young is a pioneer on her own rights when it comes to the professional wrestling circuit and female show hosts. Coming from a background where she didn’t have any whatsoever experiences of wrestling, prior to joining the WWE, she had not only excelled but also broke down the barriers for many to follow her lead.

While losing Renee Young was a big loss for the WWE, the rival brand as well as the other sporting brands could certainly hope to get her under their wings. However, to date, there’s no update on when or where she could be appearing, next. Fans might not have to wait much longer to see the former WWE personality to professional wrestling as the superstar indicates contractual obligations are preventing her from working elsewhere.

The good thing is that it’s going to expire, sooner than expected. “My non-compete with WWE is nearly up,” Renee Young shared during a recent The Wrestling Inc. Daily exclusive interview. “I still have a good standing relationship with WWE. There’s no ill-will or bad blood or anything like that.”

Renee Young left the WWE in 2020

After eight years with the biggest pro-wrestling brand in the world, Renee Young left WWE in 2020 shortly after SummerSlam. This was a major effect of WWE Backstage cancellation on FOX due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Though she returned briefly for a WrestleMania watch-along in April, it was confirmed during the interview that it was just a one-off event, and she is no longer employed by the company in any capacity.

Future collaborations between the two parties are very much possible as Renee Young remains focused elsewhere on pro-wrestling since departing. Since last year, she launched the podcast Oral Sessions and became a mom. She’s been largely invested in her other creative interests from mainstream potential television opportunities to publishing Messy In The Kitchen: My Guide to Eating Deliciously.

But Renee Young affirmed that she doesn’t intend to leave the pro-wrestling genre, ever.

“I don’t ever want to separate myself from professional wrestling. I know that’s where my fanbase comes from; I know that’s essentially going to always be my bread and butter — and I love that,” Paquette stated. “I love professional wrestling, so I’m not looking to ‘get away’ from it by any stretch.”

Renee Young and Jon Moxley have officially become parents on June 15. The former two WWE Superstars confirmed the news on Twitter as Renee also went on to take a break from her podcast due to the birth of the couple’s daughter, Nora. Several guest hosts have replaced her for the time being, starting with Moxley.

Just after announcing her departure with the WWE, Renee Young got to know that she was pregnant as the testing results came out positive. The timings couldn’t be better since she was getting over with all the obligations with the company. But then she also wanted to re-check things to make sure that it was really happening.

Renee Young wasn’t sure about pregnancy

Renee Young then revealed her husband Jon Moxley’s (fka Dean Ambrose) first reaction following her positive pregnancy test. Just like her, the Lunatic Fringe was also in disbelief.

“So, it takes a couple of minutes for it to kick in. So, I ran upstairs, ’cause I know I had one upstairs, and I was like, I’m just going to go up there and check. And I bring it downstairs, and we’re talking in the kitchen. It was one of the ones that clearly says, ‘Pregnant’ or ‘Not Pregnant.,’” Renee Young detailed on how she told Moxley the news that she was pregnant. “He passes me in the kitchen, and I was like, yeah, we’ll wait for this to switch. As I put it in his face, it switched, and it said, ‘Pregnant.’ We were like, what?!” (Quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)

Despite what people think, Jon Moxley would be a great father to their baby as admitted by his wife. The duo also took preparations by setting up a nursery as well as all the relevant things needed for a little baby before she eventually came to the world.

It was Jon Moxley himself who infamously announced Renee Young’s pregnancy on an episode of AEW Dynamite back in November of 2020. Then the ex WWE show-host later announced that name of their daughter will be Nora, named after her grandmother Eleanor, on the May 20 episode of Oral Sessions. Through her pregnancy, she has remained busy with her podcast and her inaugural cookbook venture.

Renee Young Speaks On Incredible Experience During Saudi Arabia WWE PPVs

Renee Young is a pioneer for a number of things she has done in her WWE career. She is the first and only full-time female commentator in the history of Monday Night RAW, the longest-running weekly episodic television show in history. Plus, she is also the one particular woman who made it to a PPV event broadcasted from Saudi Arabia country.

This was a major deal as Due to local laws, female WWE Superstars were unable to travel with the company to the Kingdom to perform on their earlier events. Back in 2018 Crown Jewel, WWE made some progress when Renee Young did commentary and then again at Super ShowDown 2019, making her the first female talent of WWE to feature in a Saudi TV show.

The first-ever women’s division match was to be held at Super ShowDown 2019, with Alexa Bliss vs. current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Natalya but it was pushed back to Crown Jewel of that year where Natalya defeated Lacey Evans. That being said, Renee Young is one of the handful of names who got the experience of traveling to the middle-east country and get to know the culture.

During a recent interview with WrestlingInc, the former WWE announcer and interviewer Renee Young (now known as Renee Paquette) talked about being the first woman in WWE to work a televised show in Saudi Arabia. Renee Young mentioned that it was a lifetime experience for her that she will never forget. Here’s what she had to say in detail,

“I’ll never forget going to Saudi Arabia. Being the first woman on a broadcast with WWE and the only woman on the show, and walking out to our commentary desk and having little girls in Saudi Arabia in the crowds coming up. They knew my name, they wanted to say hi. That was something I’ll never forget. It was so cool.

Jon [Moxley] ended up coming with me, and Jon wasn’t booked on the show. He flew over there with me because you hear of all the customs of like, ‘You can’t go anywhere without a man from your family.’ I just wasn’t sure what I was walking into customs wise, and adjusting to a new country and understanding what their rules and regulations were. Even in terms of what I’m supposed to wear, how I am supposed to conduct myself. Honestly though the whole experience was incredible.”

Renee Young was treated specially in Saudi Arabia

Renee Young would proceed to mention that seeing the global WWE Superstars for the kids and women of Saudi Arabia were a big deal for the country as they are willing to make more progress in the coming days. So the expressions of the people said it all.

“There’s nothing better than just being able to experience another part of the world, and experience how other people live and see the way these other women are living and see how quickly things are honestly really progressing over there,” Renee Young continued.

“As much as they’re behind us here obviously in the west, but seeing the stuff they’re able to do there now. The fact that women were at the shows and going out shopping and just being out in the community doing stuff.

I feel like everyone welcomed me with open arms. Just from the second I even got to the hotel to having people greeting us and being really excited. I had so many fans in Saudi Arabia that were just waiting for the WWE crew to show up. They were so happy to have a woman there. That made me feel really really good to be there and to be received like that.”

There have been a lot of fan backlashes over WWE hosting shows in Saudi Arabia but that would certainly not prohibit the company from hosting more such PPV events in the future. Renee Young would obviously not be a part of those as she had parted ways with the company.

Ex WWE Star Renee Young Doesn’t Know How To React On Husband’s Bald Avatar

Jon Moxley is a huge star in professional wrestling who changed up his look in a big way, leaving his wife Renee Young in total awe. He’s apparently sporting a new bald look and even the fans don’t know how to feel about it. His wife might be relating with them as expressed through her social media comments.

Renee Young has always been a very supportive wife to Jon Moxley fka Dean Ambrose from WWE. She had problems with Mox performing in hardcore wrestling matches but she had stood by his side through those dangerous matches and injuries. She also left WWE following her husband, a couple of years ago. Now she has got a bald husband which left the social media talking about it.

Jon Moxley will definitely have a different look when he makes his return to AEW TV. He will be a full-grown bearded, bald man. The former Lunatic Fringe is a tough competitor inside the squared circle and his look might just be signifying the same.

Renee Young couldn’t react to Jon Moxley’s bald look

He recently made a memorabilia signing appearance in Las Vegas, Nevada, the same place where he lives with his wife Renee Young. During the event, Moxley was seen wearing a cap. For a brief moment, he removed and the fans saw that he’s been sporting a new look that is he has shaved all his hairs from his head. This is the first time that he has done that in his career.

Now that Moxley will be sporting a new bald look, that really shocked a lot of fans who took to Twitter to react, surprisingly at what the former WWE Superstar has done. One fan compared a side-by-side photo of Moxley’s new look with Sam Roberts. “Can I just say- he looks fantastic,” Roberts tweeted. Renee Young had commented on that and she really didn’t know how to react to the photo.

“I don’t know how to feel about this….”

Renee Young Reveals WWE Offered Her Husband Help Even After Quitting

Renee Young is going through an interesting phase in her life as she is fully enjoying motherhood, as of late. A few weeks ago, she gave birth to a baby girl with her husband Jon Moxley fka Dean Ambrose. While the new experience continues for the former WWE show-host, on a professional front, she is trying to be quite active as she wanted to be a working mother.

WWE handed Renee Young the universal identity that she would have wanted. For the eight-year-long tenure, she exercised the opportunities at the best of her caliber to be called a pioneer journalist in professional wrestling. She was also the only regular commentator in the history of Raw. But the journey ended on a sour note as she and Jon, both left the WWE, unwilling to re-sign.

In previous interviews, the former Talking Smack host revealed the reasons why she and Jon wanted to quit the WWE for quite some time. They weren’t really happy with the overall environment in the company in the finishing days. However, not on every topic, they tended to fall on different pages.

Both Renee Young & Jon Moxley quit the WWE

Renee Young spoke a good thing about WWE during a recent episode of her Oral Sessions podcast. During the show, she revealed that the company offered to help Jon Moxley with an injury after he had left the company. It was Triple H, in particular, who was keeping track of the former WWE Champion before he eventually signed with the All Elite Wrestling promotion.

“Even when Jon left, there was times that Hunter pulled me aside because Jon was injured when he came back from New Japan. Hunter kept checking in to make sure that Jon was okay. If he needed anything, they would have been able to help him in any kind of capacity,” Renee Young mentioned.

“So it was nice to know that, that olive branch was still extended, and it wasn’t that heat-seeking thing that everybody thinks that it is. We’ve all spent so much time together and nothing bad went down.” (Quotes courtesy Essentially Sports)

Renee Young’s comments are similar to that of Chelsea Green about her injury experience in the WWE. The former “Hot Mess” from Impact Wrestling revealed on her podcast that she was rehabilitating an injury at the WWE Performance Center even after she had been released this spring by the WWE. But unlike Renee Young’s husband, Green picked up that injury inside a WWE ring, last November.

She never mentioned when the baby arrived but her due date was this past Friday.

Moxley infamously announced Renee Young’s pregnancy on an episode of AEW Dynamite back in November of 2020 via a random promo. Prior to that, she also posted on Instagram to reveal the gender of the baby that is a girl.

The official WWE Twitter account made a post to congratulate Renee Young on giving birth to her first child. WWE’s congratulatory post is notable as it does not mention the father, AEW star Jon Moxley, formerly known as Dean Ambrose in WWE. Many fans have blasted WWE for not mentioning the former member of The Shield while they did address the former on-air talent.

WWE wrote, “A big CONGRATULATIONS to the one and only @ReneePaquette on the birth of her baby girl!”

Renee Young was with WWE from October 2012 until August 2020 while Ambrose aka Moxley worked for the company from April 2011 until April 2019.
