Ajay Jayaram beats Chen Tiu of Chinese Taipei in the semifinals of Korean Open Super Series played at Korea just a few moments ago. It was another great performance by Ajay Jayaram who played some excellent badminton.

In the first game, both players began off to a good start taking 4 points each. After that, Jayaram took 3 points to take a 7-4 lead. Jayaram played some excellent badminton and stretched the Chinese Taipei opponent. At the interval, Jayaram led 11-8. After the interval, Chen attacked Jayaram a bit more and got 5 successive points to make a wonderful comeback into the game taking a 14-11 lead. Tiou was 16-13, but Jayaram came back strongly to equal the score at 17-17. Jayaram really played some attacking badminton playing smashes and drop shots. Jayaram won the first game 21-19.

In the second game, both players again began off well taking the first 3 points each. Jayaram looked solid at the net and in defense. Jayaram continued to maintain a good lead till 9-6. At the interval, Jayaram led 11-8. After the interval, Tiou made a good comeback into the match and leveled the score at 13-13, soon led 14-13. Soon after, Jayaram equaled at 15-15 and got 7 points in a row to win the second game 21-15.

 

He enters into the finals of Super Series event for the first time in three years and will face Chen Long in the final tomorrow.
