Playe rs to watch out for:

Kieron Pollard

Kieron Pollard is a player who is tailor-made to the Twenty20 format and he was literally born in this tournament’s first edition in 2009 in which he scored 54 off just 18 balls to seal the victory for Trinidad and Tobago against New South Wales. He is a Big Hitter and brings lot of value to the team. He can explode with the bat anytime. Spending 2-3 overs at the crease will have a significant impact on the run rate. Adding to his swashbuckling batting abilities, Pollard is also a handy bowler and a live wire on field especially in the deep where he plucks the ball out of nowhere.

Lasith Malinga:

The Sri Lankan speedster who is regarded as the best T20 bowler in the world is an important member of the Mumbai Indians side for long time. Malinga was solely missed in the IPL after he left to join the Sri Lankan side for the ODI’s in England. HE is an economical bowler and can pick wickets at will. His Yorkers are bang on target and are very difficult to score against. His four overs will be crucial to Mumbai in restricting the opposition.

X-Factor:

Rohit Sharma

The fortunes ofMumbai Indians in the upcoming edition of the Champions League T20 depends on how their skipper Rohit Sharma performs. He has been a consistent player for India for the past one year and he had dismissed the talks on him being a player capable of scoring runs only in IPL. He has also proved his captaincy skills in the past with Mumbai Indians. Rohit provides stability in the batting order and anchors a big run chase. Not to forget his fielding Skills. Now it’s time for Rohit to set the stage on fire and successfully lead his side to defend the IPL crown.

Possible Playing XI:

Aditya Tare, Michael Hussey, Corey Anderson, Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu, Kieron Pollard, Jalaj Saxena, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Lasith Malinga, Shreyas Gopal.
