Heavy rains washed away second day’s play of one-off Test between Bangladesh and India in Khan Shaeb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah, Narayanganj without being bowled a single delivery.

BCCI confirmed the closure of the days play in a tweet, “Play for Day 2 has been called off at Fatullah due to heavy showers and wet outfield.”

The second day’s play was supposed to start half an earlier than the scheduled time as heavy monsoon shower washed way 34 overs of play on Wednesday and 56 overs were bowled in which India scored 239 runs without losing any wicket.

Earlier on Wednesday Indian opening pair Sikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay put up a spectacular show against a toothless Bangladesh bowling attack and become the first Indian pair to set up a record Test opening partnership against Bangladesh.

Shikhar and Vijay are unbeaten on 150 and 89 respectively.
