When Brad Hogg came down the track to Adnan Rasool and hit him for a six over long on, fireworks went up in Chennai as Chennai Super Kings made it to the Semi Finals of the CLT20 on the virtue having a better run rate than Lahore Lions. Perth Scorchers who were chasing a target of 125, were initially struggling at 40-6 and 62-7 sneaked away with a win courtesy a brilliant fifty from stand in skipper Mitchell Marsh and a gritty innings of 38 ball 63 from Brad Hogg.

Defending 78 for a spot in the last four, Lahore Lions started brilliantly as they put their Aussie opponents on the backfoot straight away with some quick wickets before Marsh and Hogg steadied the ship with a 74 run partnership and took Perth home with 6 balls to spare.

Put into bat, Lahore Lions lost control straight away as they lost their first two wickets in the either side of a brief rain break. Lahore’s goto men Mohammad Hafeez and Nasir Jamshed flopped badly when the team needed them the most. Saad Nasim’s 55 ball 69 along with some timely contributions from Umar Akmal and Mohammad Saeed propelled Lahore Lions to a decent total of 124 in their 20 overs.

Brief Scores: Lahore Lions 124-6 (Nasim 69, Akmal 26, Paris 3-22) beat Perth Scorchers 130-7 (Marsh  63, Hoff 28, Bancroft 22, Hafeez 2-8) by 3 wickets.
