A committee has been appointed by the CSA to review the disastrous performance of all the South African cricket teams in the recent World T20 and ICC Under 19 tournaments.
Haroon Lorgat, Chief Executive at Cricket South Africa, has appointed Dawn Mokhobo, of the Human resource Committee, to look into the matter.
Some other distinguished members of the panel include former player Bacher, Piennar, and renowned sports psychologist Dr Ross Tucker. This is following a very disappointing few matches by the national squad.
Lorgat spoke to the press regarding a need to take an objective measure of their standing in world cricket and to discover the various possible reasons behind poor performances.
The committee would commence work immediately, while he said that there was no deadline fot the committee and he intended to give them as much time as they required. They said they currently do have the capabilities to undertake such a study and they have the required personnel and contracts to successfully complete it.
Lorgat hoped that the study would offer much needed insight to the poor performance of the national teams and help to improve the overall game.
Both the men’s and women’s teams, as well us the Under-19 squads will face scrutiny from the Board.
The South African Test squad lost to both India and England one after another, simultaneously managing to lose the ICC No.1 ranking.
