In the ICC World T20 Super 10 match between India and Pakistan at the Eden Gardens, there was a moment of magic. It was a moment, which would make a billion Indians nostalgic and completely emotional. It was, when Virat Kohli, on reaching his half century bowed down to the spectators.
But of all the people appreciating his heroics, Kohli bowed down to none other than the greatest batsman of all time, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. Tendulkar was attending the game as he was invited by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and was seated in the VIP Box. As soon as Kohli got to his half century, Tendulkar got up from his seat and applauded the effort. Soon, Kohli was seen bowing down to the great man and that pretty much was the moment of the match.
Virat Kohli was named the man of the match for his outstanding effort, and at the presentation he said, “It was a challenging wicket out there. You need new challenges every innings that you play. I was disappointed that I got out for about 25 in the last game. I knew if I had scored 40-45 we could have won. That really hurt because we don’t bat like that at home. Today it was all about keeping calm and luckily I got a great partnership with Yuvraj. 49 odd I scored in Dhaka against Pakistan was probably one of my better knocks.”
