After the recent loss in the last match between Australia and Zimbabwe, Darren Lehmann is embarrassed. His squad was humiliated by Zimbabwe in a One Day International for the first time since 1983. Current Australia national team coach and former Australia cricketer Darren Lehmann was depressed after seeing this.
Zimbabwe skipper Elton Chigumbura played the crucial role to grab this victory from Australia’s hand. His half ton gave a good momentum in the scoreboard which showed the path of victory. It is the only second victory for Zimbabwe against Australia in One Day International match. Zimbabwe chased 210 runs and won with 12 balls to ancillary to assert a famous three-wicket win in Harare. BBC reported on this fact that this win is Zimbabwe’s first win after the 1983 world cup. Since then Australia won four world cup and they met 27 times where 1 match was abandoned. Lehmann said that he cannot express his feeling as there is probably not enough imprecation in the English language. He also said that this defeat hurt the touring party also. This match was the fourth game of the Tri Series that also features South Africa, Australia won the last match by 198 runs against the hosts.
In the last match Australia won the toss and elected to bat first to set a high score against them, but they found it hard going as the Zimbabwe spinners professed six of the nine wickets to fall. Michael Clarke had performed well but retired hurt in the 43rd over before briefly returning in the last over of the Australian innings. Hamstring injury is the main reason of his retired hurt. After the match Australia announced that Clarke will not take part into the remaining matches of this tri series and he would return to Sydney on Tuesday for scans and further treatment. Australia is working hard to face South Africa, who have won both their matches so far, in the next match.
