With team collapsing to face the opposition’s bowling, East Zone captain Manoj Tiwary savored his team with a century against West Zone in the 1st Final of the Duleep Trophy 2014/15.

After winning the toss, West Zone’s captain chosen to bowl as they managed to pick a early wicket but a cautious 2nd with stand between Behra and Chatterjee who lasted for 24 overs. Soon, East Zone were found to be at 116 for loss of 5 wickets, which includes Saha and Saurabh Tiwary’s. But, Shukla along with Manoj set on a quick fire knock. They both put on 69 off just 50 balls before Laxmi Ratan Shukla

departed for a quick fire 54 off mere 31 balls.When things looking tough for East Zone, Manoj and Dutta put on a crucial 63 run stand for 8th wicket before Dutta departed for 17. Manoj could manage to add some more runs to the total and in mean time rised to a century off 140 deliveries with help of four fours and six sixes. East Zone finally bowled out for 278 and Captain Tiwary remained unbeaten on 100.

Later West Zone openers seen off the day by scoring 10 runs without any loss in the 8 overs they were made to play.
