England have named their 13-men Squad for the 1st Test against India to be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham which starts from July 9th, the opening game of India’s long tour of England. The selectors continued the 12-men team played against Sri Lanka with only one inclusion of Ben Stokes.

The selectors have put belief in Alastair Cook, who faced a lot of criticisms after failing as a batsman and also failed with his captaincy tactics. This brings Cook under a lot of pressure with not only his Captaincy, but also his place in the team comes under doubt with no 3-figure mark in past 24 innings.

The youngsters who done reasonably well fell under eyes of selectors, who wanted to continue them. With Robson, Balance, Ali stepping up with Tons in early stage on Test careers along with young talent Joe Root, the England team is charged up with the inclusion of young blood.

England will be hoping for better performances from senior batsmen Cook, Bell and also from the all-rounder Stuart Broad.

Chris Jordon who failed in the series against SL could be left out from final XI for bringing in young all-rounders like Stokes and Woakes. The inclusion of Stokes might be due to a lot of criticism that was received by selectors and management who didn’t pick him in the squad, who was running though the batting of oppositions with ball and smashing the bowlers with bat in counties.

This series could be final one for Matt Prior if he doesn’t step up, with too many young players have brought up in team, Prior can be replaced by Jos Butler who has been doing well in counties behind the stumps.

England 13-men Team: Alastair Cook, Sam Robson, Gary Ballance, Ian Bell, Joe Root, Moeen Ali, Matt Prior, Ben Stokes, Chris Jordan, Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Liam Plunkett, Chris Woakes.
